posted by gutAs for the $1.2T, we've been talking for years about our crumbling infrastructure. Trump campaigned on it - $2T, I think - pretty hard in 2016 so the idea WAS even more popular than the 19 Repubs that voted for it.
Well, when the new definition is everything is infrastructure, it has nothing to do with roads and bridges. Go look what’s in it, it’s junk.

Exiting Afghanistan is going swell! So is inflation. Oh and forget about the border surge (regardless of 40% of them having Covid). Can’t believe the media isn’t harping on any of it!

The border is on him. Afghanistan is a no-win for any president though. It's a shit pile brought to us by Bush. Considering he led us into that debacle at the same time he led us into an even bigger one in Iraq, he ought to go down as one of worst leaders ever. It is tragic when you consider those who fought and died in Afghanistan for essentially nothing. Not to mention the trillions spent. Horrible.

I agree with you. I was blaming him for the actual exiting of the embassy. They should have been gone prior to telling them the date of exit. The Afghan forces/ government are already just laying down against the Taliban. What a waste.

So news sources are reporting that Taliban are running everything by the end of the week, other terrorist groups are heading that way.
When the video footage of them burning down our embassy comes out, every Dem is gonna have a tough time defending this.
This isn't a partisan issue. Our options were to stay there into perpetuity to keep the peace or to leave and have the Taliban immediately fill the void. Any president is in a no win situation ( except the one who got us involved in the first place - Bush). If you stay, you continue wasting lives and treasure for nothing. If you leave, you have what's happening now. I'll take the option that gets our troops out of there ASAP. This debacle is on Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Powell. Blood's on their hands.

We were there for 20 years and it fell within a week. It was always going to fall that quickly. 5 years, 20 years, or 50 years.

Two decades of neocons and neolibs own this massive failure of the century. It was a team effort between Republican and Democratic controlled governments. We spent $90B alone training the Afghanis and they folded within two weeks. Sadly, nobody will be held accountable for this complete failure. Bush admin, Obama admin, Trump Admin, etc will get to live their lives in peace while we pay the bill they left us.

Not to mention the service members who gave their lives, and many who risked theirs, and those wounded who made a sacrifice for "keeping our freedom". Criminal.

Anyone can argue the points that endless wars and occupation never claims a W, but history will write this chapter as a big L for the Dems and Biden. Just on the mere fact that a bunch of goat herders took over a country we occupied in 2 weeks.
He did it the wrong way.
or he realized that there was no "right" way, just more American blood and money.

Biden is owned by Russia and China. He pulled out of there for reasons we may never know.
There is little limit to how much you don't know.
