Carey Blue Devils 2010

careybluedevilWhats everyones thoughts and predictions on this years Carey football team? I think that at most they would lose two games but make playoffs. They lost alot of starters from last year so lets see how they replace them. Any thoughts on how they will?

TeamsterThey are a well oiled machine, the shouldnt miss a beat the kids know that system pretty well.....Who will be the team to beat this year in the MAL or could it be like last year where there were upsets every weekend to make for some good football.......

devil1197They have to replace their entire backfield this year along with several key lineman and their main WR.
Obviously the Orians brothers will be in the back field but their are still two spots left for some players with little to no experience to fill.
On defense they lose of ton of players also with their two DE's, DT and depth, LB, and both CB's being gone. They will have two safeties with good experience coming back along with the Orians brother's at LB (wonder if the coaches will let Bryce play defense and offense at QB).
Overall, compared to the previous offseason this year they lost more overall key talent. -
careybluedevilYeah they are losing alot. I think that they should habe Brandon Orians and halfback along with Massie and have Shannon or Tyler Cusac at fullback. On defense i think Bryce will play but not at linebacker. I heard he could be safety and put Massie and Bash at cornerbacks. Linebackers could be Brandon, Stock, and Ian? I think Carey needs to run the option more this year so keep teams guessing.

devil1197Carey runs the option all the time, but its hard to tell since Norden was having good success and Brodman really struggled with his pitch.
I'd like Orians at safety, but I'd prefer Brandon at FB imo.
The defense should be solid, but I have some doubts on our RB's right now. -
0311sdpThe hardest positions to replace will be the corners, (the best pair I've ever seen Carey have) I fear that Carey once again will be vulnerable to the short passing game because they won't have bump and run in your face corners like Strahm and Phoenix. Norden will be missed along with a couple very good O-Linemen. Bryce will be a very good QB and Carey always seems to find running backs, I think #28 (Tschanen) is going to be real good and Cusac should be a good one also. I think with the lack of experience and young players that Carey will be 7-3 maybe 8-2 and just sneak into the playoffs, I think 2011 will be the year Carey makes another run but if the young guys step up by playoff time this season who knows, they could be pretty good this year. As for Brandon Orians, I hope that he will only play linebacker, to play linebacker and fullback in the wishbone (with the carries that Carey gives the fullback) it would be a lot to ask of anyone. Use him on offfense in certain situations like Norden was used (on defense) last year. Worst has the program moving in the right direction, sure the playoff losses the last 2 years are dissappointing but with both Jr. high teams doing well last season, Carey should have good teams for several years to come. Carey has gotten back to physical defense the past couple seasons (probably the best defense in D-6 last year) and I hope that continues as well as grinding and wearing teams down with a powerful running game. With Bryce at QB I think Carey will have the ability to throw a little more too.
