Ohio high school football players...Make a name for yourself on the college football recruiting circuit! And DO IT at The Next Level High School Combine, conducted by Next Level Sports Development (NLSD).
NLSD will be holding SIX high school football combines in Ohio this year at various locations around the state including Akron, Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton and Toledo. Combines will also be held in Detroit (MI) and Pittsburgh (PA). The purpose? To give players who want to gain national exposure by showcasing their skills and competing against the top talent in their area.
So what can participants expect?
Check-in
All combine participants will be photographed, measured, and weighed. Each participant will be issued a Next Level High School Combine performance t-shirt. The cost is $35.
Warm-Up
Our strength & conditioning coach will run the combine participants through a dynamic warm-up to prepare their bodies for the combine workout.
Tests
Timed tests will be recorded on video by GameFace Video. All other events will be only be recorded on paper. Each participant will be tested in the following events:
40 Yard Dash – Each participant will get two attempts. Best time will be recorded.
Vertical Jump – Each participant will get two attempts. Best mark will be recorded.
Broad Jump – Each participant will get two attempts. Best mark will be recorded.
20 yard shuttle – Each participant will get two attempts. Best time will be recorded.
Bench Press – Each participant will have the option to select weights of 155lbs, 185lbs, and 225lbs. Each participant will perform the maximum amount of reps at their selected weight. The number of reps achieved will be recorded. (Choose your test weight carefully, as it would be better to do 10 reps at 185lbs than it would be to do 1 rep at 225lbs.)
Drills
Participants will be split into groups by position. Each group will go through a series of position specific drills. During this session, coaches will be able to work with participants on skills, fundamentals, form, etc.
One on One Session
One on One Session will be recorded by GameFace Video. (Please remember to exercise good sportsmanship as this will be a reflection of who you are to college coaches and scouts). Players will be given the opportunity to showcase their individual skill by competing against other players in a series of one on one drills. (I.e. Defensive Lineman vs. Offensive Lineman, or Wide Receiver vs. Defensive Back). Players will have the opportunity to play both offense and defense during the one on one session.
Review of Materials
Each participant will receive a college recruiting packet. This guide consists of various documents, facts & figures, related to the entire college recruiting process. A combine director will review the packet with the players and their parents prior to the conclusion of the combine.
Awards
Next Level Sports Development will recognize the top combine performers at each position. These players will be awarded and interviewed at the conclusion of the combine. Top performers will also be featured on our website and in the publications sent to the colleges and universities.
Come prepared to compete and work hard. What you do today will prepare you for tomorrow. Remember THERE IS NO OFF-SEASON
