  Brunswick and Moeller should be competitive games. Greenville and East should be auto "W" SF should be a win now that Dicky C is gone. Smart move by AD to ease up on the varsity schedule.

  Don't forget that both Brunswick and St. Francis will have first year coaches this coming season. Novack and Cromwell both stepped down.

  While I don't discount the impact of a head coach...I'm certain St. Francis won't miss a beat...and the talent they have returning is pretty formidable. I think SFS wins this one this year.

They lose their head coach/offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, their big play receiver and defensive back in Scott Loy, the QB, one of the RB, their entire linebacker corp, as well as their defensive line? As I have said before this year will be a BIG question mark for St. Francis. It just appears as if you are a little over zealous as alot of my fellow Southview fans were last year. You guys beat a rebuilding Findlay team last year 14-7 so my opinion is that Findlay takes this one 21-10.

  The next head coach is likely going to come from within - so it will be minimal impact on the players - they'll likely keep much of the Cromwell ball in play, so I don't see that as having a significant impact. They have one or two kids that will fill Loy's position - one from JV and one who played varsity in various positions, but has the same speed and just an inch shorter than Loy. So while I wouldn't dismiss losing a Scott Loy - who was arguably the best all around athlete to come out of Toledo in a long time - I think they'll recover fine there. In fact, Johnson zeroed in on Loy so much, he became almost their only receiving threat. Perhaps this is an opportunity to add multiple receivers and can keep the other team's defense from zeroing in on just one. QB is a drop in. Yodzis is a better athlete than Johnson in almost all aspects - faster, better decision making, and has good arm strength - they won't not only miss a beat, they'll actually improve in that position. RB - you have Jake W., Nate B., and a couple others who are going to do well as a back.... I don't think one guy will shoulder the entire load like last year, but it will be spread out and will be effective. The entire O line comes back, with exception of center.
  
  Certainly the defense is where I think they'll have to show they rebuild from last year. You only have one of the three d-backs coming back in Yodzis (who set the school record for interceptions and second on the team in tackles as free safety), so that's going to be tough to rebuild most of that backfield. The didn't lose their entire linebacking group, but certainly their most consistent player is now graduating. And the d-line - agree - it's the big question mark.
  
  The won't miss a beat comment was in regard to the coaching changes - I don't think that's going to impact them. They'll certainly have to replace much of their defense - but all teams go through the same change every year when their seniors graduate. I think the talent they do have coming back is substantial, especially on the offensive side of the ball, and I think they'll do well this year, even with the question marks around their defense.

  Who is the next coach going to be? You mentioned it will likely be from the inside.

  Is there any significance to the fact that there is only one City League school on Findlays schedule? Or I am reading too much into it?

  rmolin, sophmore Wayzwrniak (#34) returns at LB. Beauch got a bunch of PT at DE. They return their entire O-line minus Kenzie including the 6'1 230 TE White. Yodzis will be an excellent QB/FS combo at 6'3/6'4 205lbs.
  
  I'm not so sure the hire will come from within.
  
  Supposedly Coach Cromwell didnt even notify his staff, who have been together for 20 years, that he was stepping down. It will be interesting to see if Brian Cromwell decides to apply and leave Columbus De Sales.
  
  The Findlay game should be a great measuring stick for both teams.

  They havent even decided on a coach yet and they already know who is going to play and at what position? Is this really how SFS runs their program? I had heard that Coach was going to step down this year but was unaware of his not sharing this with his staff.

  I posted where guys played last year. Unless 'they' install and option attack, Yodizs should be the QB, and its pretty safe to say that everyone else I mentioned will be playing at the same position that they did this past season.
  
  Coach Cromwell never let on to anyone publicly that he was going to step-down prior to doing so.

  I would imagine that even with a more wide open offense, Yodzis will still be the QB, Nate will still be the FB. Cromwell, for the most part, played the best players and most talented kids...and those kids are the best at those positions. Whether or not the coach comes from inside the current program or outside, it's not hard to identify the best athletes...

  Keith, I understand that this schedule was done well before the TCL vote on the Trojans joining the league.

  In lieu of Coach Cromwell not notifying his staff and from what I understand none of his existing players. Is there some discension at St. Francis? Also based on this do you guys really think that they would hire his son?

  His players were not told ahead of time...first time they heard about it was when everyone else heard about it. I don't think that's reflective of discension...but I do know the players felt a little let down by Coach Cromwell - especially the upcoming seniors. But it's hard to read much into that...

  The discention was reported right here on the huddle a few weeks ago.
  It seems as though some knew and some did not. I too feel very much "let down" by this action and truely wish the best for SF. While this seems very odd in many respects it could be a real opportunity for Sf to take their program to the "next level".
