I hope Ironton had their best week of practice and they come in and play their best game to date to post another win.

Still pondering it. 6 hour drive to Nelsonville though and my car's running like crap....YIKES!!

However, my Ohio Bobcats are also playing Northern Illinois at Peden Stadium at 2 this Saturday in Athens. It might be cool to make a day of it and catch both games....I dunno.
The trip to Nelsonville isn't that long....from Logan, I can make it to Coshocton in about 2 hours and 15 minutes....it's another 15 minutes to Nelsonville.....so at best, you are talking about 2 1/2 hours....take 16 west to 60 south, and then 93 south to Logan....there you can pick up 33 south to Nelsonville--then SR 78 out to the high school. The only problem will be Maple Ave. north of Zanesvillle...lots of traffic lights. Take in the double header (OU Bobcats), but you may want to get to Nelsonville early...traffic won't be fun!!

If Coshocton wins this game, the State Semifinal Game will be at Hamilton Township.
Good luck Ironton Tigers! Lots of Logan people will be cheering you to victory. No discredit to Nelsonville....they have a very nice facility, but I am still scratching my head on why this game (Coshocton-Ironton) is not being played at Logan (not really much farther for Ironton and a little closer for Coshocton).....can anyone offer an explanation...? Logan has more seating to hold the bigger crowd, that I think will be there this week, since both Logan and Amanda Clearcreek are out of play offs....and lots more parking!!!

Oh! Sorry about that....I didn't know if you were miscalculating the drive time from Coshocton...thought that was pretty long or you were a very slow driver...you are right...it's at least that long from State College! Sorry 'bout that!!!

I certainly hope that you don't believe Coshocton is second to Ridgewood. Not to disrespect anyone, but I'm pretty sure it was Ridgewood who took Coshocton off of their schedule - not the other way around. Oh, and should you be reminded of what happened the last time the two teams played? A 35-0 blowout in Coshocton's favor on Ridgewood's home field, ending a pretty big home winning streak for Ridgewood. That happened only a year ago, by the way.

Unfortunately, we will never really know who is better this year because the two teams are obviously not going to play each other. In my opinion, Coshocton is the better team. Not to take away from what Ridgewood has accomplished, because they are a very good football team as well.

    Good Luck 'Skins and Generals

It's in today's Logan Daily News....Logan would have been right in the middle for both Ironton and Coshocton...you couldn't get any closer to splitting the distance--within 1 mile! The paper states that from Ironton HS to Logan's stadium is 86.72 miles, while it's 87.75 miles from Coshocton HS to Logan's stadium. Logan wanted this game and many questions were flying around here why the game wasn't being played here. They are alluding that the decision was made to help Ironton's travel out. So, they are "helping" Ironton and adding to the miles that Coshocton has to travel. Go figure!! I can't imagine that anyone from Ironton would have complained about the extra bit of distance for a larger facility.
Anyway, Logan had paperwork filed with OHSAA and was in hopes of hosting some playoff games....we would have possibly had the Wheelersburg/Fredericktown if we were not playing last Friday night...it's just ashamed that a 6500 seat stadium is sitting empty this weekend when it would have been such an ideal location for both teams.....Coshocton folks will be passing right by the exit, to travel another 12 or 13 miles down the road. Everyone travelling to the game tomorrow, please have a safe trip!

I highly doubt that 12 miles is going to make a difference with either team. NY has a good facility..nothing wrong with having the game there too. Good luck Tigers! Get it done!
