Football Open Dates

OHSAA has self reporting open dates, but I 'm sure not all of them are listed. Its getting to the point where teams are going to start losing out on good games which will help get our teams into the playoffs. If your team has an open date, list it here. Let's get some suggestions to our ADs.

Grove City Christian(D6- R23) Week 3 and Week 5, one of which has to be a home game

You have been "A" voice for the eagles all season now are you setting their schedule too? I would leave these things to the coaches and AD. As soon as parents start setting the schedule and getting involved in that capacity I feel you open the door for many bad things to happen. IMO

I totally agree with you though about parents setting the schedule. I am not looking to have parents "set" anytihing or meddle in anything. The coach and AD are just two individuals who have a lot to do. If there is a situatiion which is not lsited on OHSAA, which is a self reporting site, what is wrong with making them aware of the situation? No meddling, just another set of eyes. That's it. With our school, for example, if I see a poster that indicates a week may be open and it may have some competetive potential, I send it on to him. If there is potential, great! If not, that's ok too. No big deal. I don't tell him what we need to do or should do or argue a case for a particular team. That's his job and he does it very well. I love to discuss potential matchups here on the huddle, but in no way do I want to get involved in the decision making process. The purpose of this thread is to post open dates that may not be on OHSAA which might be of a benefit to any team that might be having a hard time filling a week. What is done with the info is dependent on the relationship the poster or reader has with their football leadership team.

Steubenville always has open dates, but nobody knows what they are because the AD doesn't post them on the OHSAA website.

I think Steubenville has all 10 weeks filled, though I am not sure about Week 9.

What I have heard is that the Big Red AD is waiting for some contracts to be signed and returned. According to rumor, we have all ten weeks filled. But I don't like rumors. I will believe that the schedule is filled when the school releases it.
