Most recognizable logo in HS sports

  • chiefy jones
The New York Yankees have the intertwined NY....The Dallas Cowboys have the star ⭐. The Celtics have the clover . Notre Dame has the intertwined ND.

But who has the most recognizable logo in high school....SPORTS....Not just football?

I'll give you a minute to think.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner Johnny.

The Massillon Washington Tigers have the most recognizable logo....NATIONWIDE....not just in Ohio.

For the last year we here at THE Chiefy Jones Football Forum have been doing our research. First it started just in Ohio, we hit towns from Xenia to Middletown....From Youngstown to Dayton, from Marietta to Toledo and it was no contest. We then thought, "hey, this is such a runaway, let's go nationwide." It was off, from Mississippi to Nevada, from Miami to Oregon, from sunny Southern California to beautiful Maine....The results did not differ in runaway fashion, the most recognize logo in all of HS sports was Massillons Obie the Tiger.

Thanks for all your patience, thanks to the people on this site who funded our little project and most of all thank you to THE Massillon Washington High School Tigers...

...sorry, I must have missed something. What's this logo of yours look like?
  • mcburg93
I guarantee no one outside of massillon knows who "Obie The Tiger" is. They might say ohh that is a tiger logo. Which could mean ten thousand other teams that use that logo. lol. More massillon bs.

Oh mcburg....You silly silly boy....If you truly believe that you are dumber than I thought, and trust me, I thought you were pretty dumb.

You must not be as big a football fan as you portray.

Ten thousand other teams? Would you like to make a bet that there isn't ONE other team who uses it?
  • skank
Here ya go mcburg, you can show where 1 other team uses it....In the WHOLE country....And I leave the site forever, you can't, and you leave forever, Mr. "Guarantee." Lol.

    I eagerly await your reply.

So there are no other "tiger" logos out there? lol are you kidding me? I have no clue what massillons mascot looks like but I am assuming it has something to do with a tiger just like the other ten thousand in the world does. So you are telling me it has nothing to do with a tiger? lol

You say here....AND I QUOTE...."ten thousand other teams that use THAT logo."

    "THAT" logo.

"THAT" ....Being the key word here. So....In your next ignorant post, you say, and again....I would. "So there are no other Tiger logos out there?"

What is it mcburg...."that logo" or any random Tiger logo?

    Take skanks bet....I dare you.
  • chiefy jones
And even if there ARE 10,000 other Tiger logos out there, do you think they're all the same? Are the Missouri, LSU and Clemson logos all the same? Do you ignorantly think one can't be more recognizable because there are 10,000 other teams with the same name? Get real dude, you're slightly smarter than that.

Read what I wrote. It says "ohh that is a tiger logo." The next sentence I reference that very sentence by saying there are ten thousand that use that logo, meaning the tiger logo. You can twist it any way you want. There are thousands of tiger logos out there. Each has a twist to it to make it the teams own logo. But its still a tiger logo. The stretching of the number you say of people that know the massillon's is a twist that only a massillon person could appreciate.

So....Can a Tiger logo be recognizable because there are 10,000 Tiger logos out there?

I mean, I don't get your argument, sure there are a lot of Tiger logos, there are a lot of panther logos too....Same with bulldogs, wildcats, falcons, Eagles....Etc.

    What's your point?

Not saying it can't but I highly doubt someone outside Ohio is going to know what the logo is. I had no clue what it looked like till I looked it up. I also googled best tiger logos and guess what? Massillon's did not come up. lol

The way I'm taking it is I said, Massillon has the most recognizable logo in the world." And you basically said...."there are 10,000 Tiger logos out there."

Which is a fun little fact, but adds nothing to the conversation. Nothing of substance anyway.

... Oh, I'm a big high school football fan and in all the years I've attended the State Championship games going back to 1973 and watching them on TV, I would have thought that at least ONCE I would have seen that helmet on the field....but I guess we'll ALL (entire nation)just have to keep waiting for that to happen.

Silly mcburg, "best" is a relative term....Who decided on this "best?" Also, best is not most recognizable now is it? No it is not. Look at Pittsburgh's logo, is it the best? No....Is it the most recognizable? One of em.

You haven't seen a Massillon helmet in a state title game? Hmm.

Fair enough. I typed into google most recognizable tiger logo and guess what? Massillons did not come up. Is there anything else I should search? I even tried most recognizable tiger logo in the state of Ohio guess what? Massillons did not show up on that either. So help me out here on how you can say its the most recognizable in the world.

My god I found a search that would bring massillons logo up. I typed in "most recognizable tiger logo in Ohio High School Football to never win a state championship during the playoff era since that is the only kind of championships that matter" and guess what Massillons logo finally appeared.

I didn't even know Massillon's mascot was a tiger until this thread. Outside of Stark County I'm not sure many people are aware, especially when you consider the football team hasn't been good since 1972. Have they had any decent players since Zwick?
