Coach Moyer been at Wapak 3 years all 3 year either out right won the WBL or shared it. Does the streak continue this year?

I travel a lot and I recently ate @ Woody's in Wapak, excellent burgers, their burgers are similar to the burgers at the Cameo Grill here in Massillon. Good wings too.

Never ate at Woody's, but can vouch for the Cameo reps.

The word out of Wapak is last years starting QB will not be playing this year. He has offers from D1 schools to play baseball

Specializing is frowned upon by most pro athletes, but whatever the young man and his family feel is best for him. Good luck this season.

but most wouldn't consider this specializing that so many people are against. There is one thing to give up sports late in your career to protect yourself from an injury when you have something big and when a kid a much younger age puts all his eggs in one basket and quits everything but one sport well before that age.

Aaron Craft did it a number of years ago. He was a standout QB but quit his SR year because of Hoops and Ohio State.
I am not for kids quitting and such, but once you become a Senior and you have something etched in stone, or pretty much close to it, then I cannot fault them.

In early on, in JH or even Frosh to quit....I think is too early as a kid can learn a lot, mentally and physically, that ccould help him in his favorite sport.

There was talk in our area over the years about kids and if they should play. Todd Boeckman at OSU. Starred in all 3 sports and some thought he should quit 1 or 2 but didn't. Cory Luebke stood out for Marion Local in football as a QB and pitcher in baseball. He stuck it out and led his team to the state finals in FB and got drafted (3 times) by MLB.

    Specializing young = bad.
Leaving a sport your Sr year when you have solid offers to go to the next level.....much harder to criticize

With that said...MAYBE St marys will be able to compete but I am not sure who they all lost. Kenton.....I believe their reign is well over.
Celina got rid of their asshole coach and a few guys didn't come back but their numbers have been so low. They flirted and made the playoffs a little bit but unless their QB really grows or they change a few things they likely wont be able to have enough offensive firepower.

    OG......solid as well.

Do you personally know the young man? Did he tell you he was protecting himself from injury?

Or does he want to take the time to work on hitting the curve ball? Which would be a form of specializing.

Don't doubt thevoice, he knows everything, just ask him, he'll tell ya.

The young man is a pitcher and with Moyer's offense the QB takes alot of hits. I hope he does well he was a good QB but wasnt going to get any offers so I agree with what he is doing
  • chiefy jones
Good luck to him, keep us updated Beezer.

Looked at the max pro and jj huddle division 3 preview no mention of Wapak. This is going to be the year we find out how good of a coach Moyer is.
  • the_beezer
Not at all good at Wapak this year with a 0 and 2 start. The team is about 14 players deep with most players playing both sides of the ball. First two games penalties and turnovers are killing us. Not alot of size especially when you get past our starters. We have been blessed with some awesome kickers but that ended this year. Moyer is going to have to pull some magic out of his hat to save this season. We will still be there cheering.

The above question has been answered no wbl title and no playoffs. Good night
