Orrville at West Holmes

Ligament sprain i believe. Aiming to be back next week. We really missed his containment & speed on defense last week and will again this week.rrfan;1511276 wrote:What exactly is wrong with Zook? Knee? Tear? What?
Tough matchup for us coming off a week where we gave up 350 on the ground. Run defense has to be a lot better. -
Old RiderDefinately not taking anything away from Perone, Ogi, and Arnold because what they have done so far on the ground is video game like numbers....but we will not see the same speed and athleticism we saw last week at Senior.
I really would like to see some type of passing game from the Riders this Friday to keep WH honest, but I doubt that happens! -

Passing game has not improved this year at all IMO. I am surprised that we have not seen some significant improvement. I would like to see us find a way to get the ball to #5 in space. Would really help open the running game up.Old Rider;1511921 wrote:Definately not taking anything away from Perone, Ogi, and Arnold because what they have done so far on the ground is video game like numbers....but we will not see the same speed and athleticism we saw last week at Senior.

I think the backs grinding it out for WH will wear Orrville down. Another tough week, but I know it will be a battle and if we can keep the running game somewhat in check get a break or two who knows. -
RedRider1Assuming the sprinklers are running full blast this week to prepare the field for some Millersburg ball?

sanitizerTeam seems to be a little limited on some fronts. The passing game has not improved much according to you guys.... I wonder if that is because the coaches just don't see the ability. I do think some short stuff in the flats or short square-ins in front of LB coverage could be enough to keep the linebackers honest. Those don't require a lot of time in the pocket and can be executed out of a running set? One thing we do seem to have is one or two small, young kids who are quick in the open field? I don't know that we have the dominance up front and the horses in the backfield to just keep running? We will see, I sure love the discussion. This football team sure does seem to show up and play hard. That is all a little town like the Ville can ask for. On another note, I was up in your neck of the woods Old Rider last night... Was going to stop and say hi but time wouldn't allow it. Was around 5:00?
P.S.- I use to LOVE playing teams that ran the ball all night.... Just meant LOTS of action for the LB crew! -

Of course, and I don't think its been mowed for a few weeks. The grasshoppers sure love it.RedRider1;1512142 wrote:Assuming the sprinklers are running full blast this week to prepare the field for some Millersburg ball? -

Would be great to see West Holmes get turf. I always liked playing there and the addition of the visitors side really makes that stadium unique. Add that the home side sits in that hill always seemed to make the crowd very loud. Does the ambulance still go crazy on a score?Greatwhite;1512207 wrote:Of course, and I don't think its been mowed for a few weeks. The grasshoppers sure love it. -

There has been some talk about turf but nothing official. I think they are just kicking some tires so to speak.Old Rider;1512301 wrote:Would be great to see West Holmes get turf. RIDER DADHope to see that short passing game tonight, we had some success with it in our scrimmages with two good teams, and then it disappeared for the most part, good luck tonight riders give them all you got.

rrfanCan Orrville pass enough to keep WH somewhat off balance? Can the Orrville D cause some turnovers, bend but not break? If so this night will be fun to watch...
