Changing Tradition

takedown20How many schools are changing huge traditions this year? Such as Grove City High School no longer wearing the blue helmets with script Dawgs but instead white helmets with an interlinking GC?

In Massillon we are changing our tradition of never winning on OHSAA title.takedown20;1480454 wrote:How many schools are changing huge traditions this year? Such as Grove City High School no longer wearing the blue helmets with script Dawgs but instead white helmets with an interlinking GC? -
RedRider1Other than being Massillon (which may be enough), what traditions are at Massillon?
They change uniforms yearly so that's not one. -
bases_loadedDover, which had probably one of the nicest natural grass fields in the state has gone to turf. Top level turf but still will be an adjustment.

Old RiderOrrville got turf last season and it certainly was an adjustment, but it is a beautiful field.
Congrats Dover! Looks awesome! -

Although a little different then what you are talking about (and btw..it is a freaking helmet) but I think the tradition of going to the playoffs, currently the longest streak in Ohio at 16, for coldwater is ending this season. They lose a ton of talent and open up with two extremely good opponents and probably lose 2 games in the league. 6-4 wont get them into the playoffs. I think they will continually improve and be a good team at the end of the season, but it may be too late as the two NC games are huge.takedown20;1480454 wrote:How many schools are changing huge traditions this year? Yeah, we sure had some great games over the years. Another reason I miss coming to Dover is Guieseppes Italian Restaurant...love that place!bases_loaded;1480790 wrote:Man do I miss that rivalry. -
sanitizerCHEERS!
Enough said! -
takedown20It's not just the helmet it's the Tradition of the Grove City Dawgs and everything that coach Cross brought to GC, is virtually being destroyed. To people outside of the Grove City community it may seem like nothing, but to us it's more than just a helmet and it's more than just a nickname. When you're a little boy playing little league football you dream about growing up and getting to have that Dawgs on the side of the helmet.
