Overall, the privates just dominate other sports like volleyball, golf, tennis, CC.........this isnt just a football problem. I know that the OHSAA loses money in tournaments when privates are playing. THey sell less presale tickets, 1/2 what publics do.

In that area kids dont seem to use open enrollment to go and play sports much. The kids you see on the varsity rosters for a team like Marion local, Coldwter, St Henry and the likes have been there their whole lives and if ya take out the JH team photo you will see them!
I think Coldwater had one kid on teh varsity who was open enrollment. A senior, and he had came over in 6th or 7th grade.

You def dont see what ya do at the private schools where an athlete transfers from one to another in HS.
Add DSJ to that MAC list. Although at DSJ the kids in the senior class picture are typically the same ones in the First Communion picture in 2nd grade.

My buddy's wife is from Delphos. When we were up there for the wedding a few months ago, they had some street festival going on (I think it's called Canal Days?). Just about everyone I saw was wearing a Delphos St. John's hat or shirt. I think I saw three people total wearing a Jefferson shirt. It was the first place I had been where it seemed like the public school was the "outcast school" and the town rallied around the private school.

Golf is about even. You also have to take in to consideration the number of public schools that have golf.

While the private schools dominate volleyball the public schools dominate softball.

In boys singles tennis in the past ten years the public schools have won more titles than the private schools. In boys doubles the public schools hold the edge as well. In both girls singles and doubles it's even.

The public schools dominate boys and girls track and field as well. How many private schools have went on dominating runs like Reynoldsburgs girls and Glenvilles boys? As far as CC goes the privates aren't even close to dominating and it isn't even close. You should know that "coach".

We're not even going to get on boys basketball lol. The top team in the state as well as one of the top teams in the country was a D2 public school.

It's exactly that. What some seem to think matters that really doesn't is why.

Yes they are but a lot of them tend to have addresses from a lot of surrounding school districts outside of the Jefferson public school district. Nothing wrong with this but it's quite a bit different demographics than the community schools around them who have to take everyone. I am sure the Jefferson school district would love to send you a bunch of their troubled kids so they did not have to deal with them.

I think this will be an interesting vote. I think the vote will be more about money than anything else. I would personally hate a seperate play-off system. The only problem I have ever had is the "scholarship" money given to help off-set tuition price at a privte school. If you can not afford a private education then you remain at the public school!

If your position is to remain consistent, there should be no loans or grants to help pay for college. If you can't pony up, dig ditches!

Most of the "scholarships" are given by the government to give everyone a shot at a better education. My family couldn't afford it (because we had 5 kids in the private schools), so we received aide to attend the schools. And only my older brother played football.

You can live in the Delphos school district and have a Fort Jennings, Elida, Spencerville, etc... address. Delphos Jefferson gets open enrollment kids from Fort Jennings, Ottoville, Spencerville, Lima, Crestview, Van Wert, Elida, etc... There are students at Fort Jennings who have Delphos addresses. In fact, if Delphos annexed 100 yards north, some of those students would actually live in the Delphos city limits. I'd almost guarantee that every public school in Ohio has students whose address is a different town that the one their school is in. If you think every student at every public school lives in that district, you're fooling yourself.

Every public school in Ohio does not have a student whose address is in a different City.

Are you asking me to provide addresses of minors? I'll pass.

Don't be stupid, Con. Give examples of a school district where the only residents of said school district have the mailing address of that town.

    Example: Put-in-Bay

Look at the list of public schools that are not open enrollment. You'll find one there. I promise. I don't need to know I have convinced you that not "all' schools have at least one kid that lives elswhere for I know that it's just not true based on the distirct I am engaged with.

Why are you the way you are? You give an example to provide proof to your claim, that you are right. There are many NON open enroll districts that will have varying addresses because of butting postal lines.

I hope this happens. Let the Private schools beat each other brains out....

I don't know how to answer why I am the way I am. I also don't know that why really matters on here.

I choose not to give proof. It's available for all to see if they choose. It's not like I'm coveting credibility with you. I don't really think Delphosfan is interested in proving that "all" have addresses outside the district or city limits either. God Bless him if he is.

I don't disagree that there are many. I am confident that it's not all.

Unfortunately (for you) you are not the one to ask this question

When your team actually wins something on the field, this will be an area where your input is valid

Until then, please remain on the outside looking in where you've be ever since the state championships were actually "earned" and not voted on in some back room

I'm not saying every school has transfers. School district boundaries do not equal city address boundaries. My aunt lives in the Delphos school district but has a Fort Jennings address. I know there are people who live in the Columbus Grove school district but have Fort Jennings addresses. It's very common.

    That's a new way to dodge a question....Good work.
