Iggy #1, St. Eds # 2, CHHS Tigers OVERRATED!!!!

As we approach the midway point of another high school football season my St. Ignatius Wildcats are undefeated once again. Coach Kyle has done an outstanding job at getting us prepared to make another deep run into the playoffs. I've been to several local games to watch some of the local competition. Once again it looks like St. Eds will be the toughest challenge for us. We will meet them at the end of the season and probably once more to see who will advance out of the region in the playoffs. The Cleveland Heights Tigers are a talented and fast team, but they are extremely undisciplined and undersized. Their undisciplined play leads to numerous personal fouls and procedure penalties . Because they rely on their speed and talent they lack basic fundamentals which leads to countless turnovers and poor tackling. They are a entertaining team to watch, but they will be one and done again. Their level of competition is no where near our level. St. Eds of last year showed them what playoff football was about. As a matter of fact their undisciplined play and poor focus led to their exit of the playoffs on their home field. The playoffs are not for the timid. Our heart, discipline, team unity, and focus often allows us to beat a quicker team. Nevertheless, if you keep hitting a team like that, they will either quit or self destruct. Teams Like us and St. Eds know what it takes to be champions and are willing to commit and sacrifice. I hope we get an opportunity to come to Cleveland Heights to see if they can compete. But my better judgement tells me that it wouldn't be close and their undisciplined ways would lead to their demise. Our lineman are more hungry and aggressive. Our receivers and quarterback would dissect their quick defensive backs and linebackers, plus they are poor tacklers. As we know best in the playoffs you have to make the plays when they are there to be made no exceptions. It's hard for me to believe that a team like the Tigers are up for the challenge. I look forward to meeting Eds in the playoffs while Cleveland Heights enjoys the rest of the playoffs. Their coach has a proven track record, but his Tigers aren't ready for prime time. I just can't see them doing anything in the playoffs if they make it. Hard to coach a team that doesn't have the intangibles like field leadership and consistent focus.. Good Luck CHHS Tigers........lol

Iggy is far and away the class of D1 this season. If they don't run the table, it would be considered a significant failure.
