WEEK 5: LABRAE (0-4) at CAMPBELL MEMORIAL (2-2)

  • BigDean1
LaBrae comes to Campbell this Friday in a key AAC game. LaBrae lost to Liberty last week in the final seconds. Campbell rebounded last week with a win over Jefferson Area. LaBrae is better than its record and has one of the better quarterbacks in the league. Campbell must win to keep its playoff hopes alive. Also, a win by Campbell also puts the Red Devils into the driver seat for their third straight AAC title. Your thoughts on this game.

Exactly what you said. Must win.

At home, need to play 4 quarters of Campbell football

If labrae does what they have done In all 4 games this season which is turn the ball over they will lose and Campbell will walk away with the game, how's Campbell's pass d looked since week 1?
  • reddevil90
passing d has still have a few holes. but getting better. they are getting a little more comfortable. If they and the coaches play 4 smart qt they can if they work together with some enthusiasm. Could win out.

season comes down to lakeview. bottomline. i know were playing one game at a time...but the reality is the rest of the schedule is not very strong. were up to 10th in the region. with labrae and girard 0-4 only chance at getting is beating lakeview. this week we should dominate but ill wait til the gridiron meeting to see how we looked against jefferson. im not very confident.

Reyes had 190 yards passing vs. Jefferson, albeit 70 of those came on one play. And Campbell either found a running game or Jefferson is weak against the run because Brown rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns. My take is LaBrae, despite their record, can pull an upset if Campbell does not come to play. Campbell did lose two starters to injury vs. Jefferson. But I don't know how serious those injuries are. LaBrae lost to Liberty on the final play of the game.

Lakeview will be a tough game but nobody else should scare them just hope the players don't have that mindset

    Mr black?

Campbell should win. Unfortunately, LaBrae probably won't fetch them many L2 points. Neither will Girard, Champion, or Newton Falls. Jefferson was a nice win. They need to beat Liberty and Lakeview.

I agree with Big D. They could win out. I hope they do.

Side note... methinks they should try to get a home and home with JFK for 2013 and 2014. Isn't their contract with South Range up? They should try to do something to beef up their schedule. JFK is a playoff calibur team, and there's a lot of history there. It would provide another big game for the kids to get pumped up for, and they'd get to play under the lights at Mollenkopf. It just makes too much sense.

This is your last warning about trying to reveal someone's identity. Next time it's a forum ban. That is an absolute no no.

I wouldn't go after JFK, smaller school then campbell, i think they should schedule a school a little bigger then them, maybe a team like niles or maybe even beaver local.

Only way I do it is if its 2 straight at home just like it was for them.

Theyre gonna suck after this year anyway

Brookfield should fall off some after this season. It's true, JFK is a smaller school than Campbell. But JFK also has a solid program that seldom has a losing season. It's a natural rivalry from the old days of the Mahoning Valley Conference. I would like to see JFK back on Campbell the schedule. Niles McKinley and Beaver Local would be nice additions too, maybe Crestview also.

Thank you chiefs. God. Thank you.
  • Spread All Day
Jfk v campbell would be nice.
    Brookfield could be nice.
What about a school like Niles?
  • Spread All Day
Don't even see that post big dean lol
  • BTrev
Niles, JFK, or Crestview, would be good. If they keep Brookfield, and assuming Struthers will be on the schedule for the foreseeable future, they'd only be able to add one. I don't think they could go wrong with any of them. JFK would be my first choice though. At D5, Campbell's not exactly dwarfing them either.

Beaver Local would be a mistake. They'd be better off keeping South Range on the schedule. At least South Range will win some games. If South Range only wins 3 games, they're more valuable, in terms of playoff points, than Beaver Local.

none of those teams down south really care to play us...its a no gate game and gas isnt exactly cheap nowadays. i work down there and playing teams up north is something they are now trying to avoid. short runs in our conferences burned their pocket books

Don't be surprised to see a labrae upset this week

I don't think anyone would be. LaBrae has some skill... they just haven't been able to figure it out yet.
