Week 1: Pickerington North Panthers @ St. Charles Cardinals

    This week 1 match-up features a PN team coming off a 8-2 season where they missed playoffs. The Cardinals struggled with a 4-6 record in 2011.

    North loses Ohio State freshmen Pat Elflein who was an anchor on the offensive and defensive line for the past 4 years. Panthers also lose 2,699 career passing yards in QB Zach Olszewski(Ashland), OL/DL Luke Carothers(Ohio Dominican), OL DeVaughn Dobbins(Capital), LB Blake Springhetti(Mount Union) and PJ Cleary(Notre Dame, Oh).

    North also loses 500 yard rusher Alston Roberston and Seth Gamby who was second on the team with 16 receptions.

    North returns Godwin Igwebuike who had 1,358 all-purpose yards, 5 interceptions, 31 tackles and 14 touchdowns. Michigan commit Jake Butt, North's all-time sack leader and 2nd in TFL, will return to wreck havoc on the defensive line as well as add to his 7 TD receptions he had last year. LB duo Dylan Weigel(74 tackles) and Warren Stoddard(51 tackles) are returning to add to their numbers.

    Mason Olszewski will follow in his brothers footsteps as the QB as well as safety where he had 37 tackles and 2 INTs, 1 for a TD, last year.

    The receiving corps return, along with Butt and Igwebuike, Jamie Hence and Roland Ladipo who combined for 18 receptions for 240 yards and 2 TDs.

    The defense also returns Kody Kasey and Trae Harris.

    The offensive line will feature seniors Chris Huhn, Grant Glackin, Jordan Grubb, and juniors Geno Rollo and Cameron Wolfe.

    North will have a scrimmage tomorrow at 9 am versus Dublin Coffman in Pickerington.
