Massilon QB Kyle Kempt Commit to Cincinnati
-
Little DannyMassilon OC'ers. What can you tell me about Kempt? He had a pretty solid offer list that included Stanford, Tennessee, Ole Miss and WVU.
-
skankLast I heard he was leaning toward WVU, so this is a surprise to me. Either way, good luck to him.
Here are his numbers.
2010 So. 111 of 205 for 1643 yds 16 td's and 4 int's
2011 Jr. 94 of 168 for 1335 yds. 14 td's and 4 int's.
Kyle is basically a game manager who CAN hurt you. He makes good decisions, unfortunately for him, this is his Sr. year, and he's on his 4th oc. -

He is overrated. He has been nothing but a Hype machine created by Jim Harbaugh. He is a Good high school QB but not a D1 caliber playerLittle Danny;1134424 wrote:Massilon OC'ers. Al BundyI am a recently converted Massillon fan, and I expect this kid to lead our dream team to 15-0. He has been disappointing since we brought him in from Oregon, but the kid does have some potential.

skankHere's a quick little article Danny.
To any other goof, even though I've said it a thousand times, I've highlighted it for you.

Massillon QB Kyle Kempt
MASSILLON Three years ago Kyle Kempt could not have told you much about the University of Cincinnati’s football team. Three years from now he may be leading it.
Kempt verbally committed to Cincinnati after visiting the Bearcats over the weekend. Kempt, who transferred to Massillon from Oregon after his father’s job was relocated, warmed to the idea of playing in Ohio after he fell in love with Cincinnati.
“Three or four years ago, I had no idea I’d be playing in Ohio,” Kempt said. “I heard about Cincinnati before I came here. Now I just fell in love with it.”
The Bearcats, a Big East school with an automatic BCS bowl bid, have had some of the best success among the schools recruiting Kempt. His 6-foot-5, 200-pound body is a good fit for UC’s multiple offense that throws quite a bit out of the shotgun.
“It came down to where I felt was the best place for me after all the visits and trips,” Kempt said. “Something was telling me this was the place for me. I was surprised I committed early, but at the same time I felt strongly about it.”
Kempt is the first Massillon quarterback to commit to a BCS school since Justin Zwick went to Ohio State in 2004.
Cincinnati went 10-3 last year and played in the Liberty Bowl. Before that, it was 12-1 and 11-3 and played in the Sugar Bowl in 2010 and the Orange Bowl in 2009.
“It’s a great fit for him athletically and academically,” Massillon head coach Jason Hall said.
The other notable schools that offered Kempt were Mississippi, Tennessee, West Virginia and Indiana as well as Mid-American Conference schools. The other BCS schools either have not had the recent success the Bearcats have had or didn’t fit Kempt’s skill set. He is more of a drop-back passer.
Cincinnati also has one of the best engineering schools in the country. Kempt plans to major in the field.
“That was a huge factor ... academics and football and this was the best fit,” Kempt said. “They’re so used to winning. Now we’re looking to build a class where instead of just getting to a BCS bowl, which they have done two of the last three years, we’re looking to win one now.”
Kempt is a brainy quarterback. Massillon’s passing offense has been a little limited in his two years as a starter because of pass protection. But Kempt has thrown 30 touchdown passes and just eight interceptions.
He has a 4.125 grade-point average and is ranked first in his class. He said it is likely he will graduate early from Massillon and enroll at Cincinnati for spring practice in 2013.
“Now that this is all taken care of, I can devote all my energy and focus into Massillon and leading us to a successful season,” Kempt said. “We’ve moved around a lot and I never really got to grow up in a state where most of the people are, like here in Ohio, Ohio State fans. I’m very happy with my decision and thankful for the opportunity.” -

We are going to roll the Red. We brought in a stud lineman. Our combine was stronger than ever this year. We had kids try out for us from 5 different states.FairwoodKing;1136298 wrote:In a pig's eye. -

I'm quite sure that your real team has no where near enough balls to schedule Steubenville OR Massillon. But thanks for playing.

Please leave Bundys moms eye out of this.

I am a huge Massillon fan. Skank, thanks for the correction on the combine. We have tried out kids from 6 states according to skank. I can't wait for the season. Our 6 state all-star is going to destroy Big Red. We should have a return to the glory days where we dominated Big Red every year.skank;1136461 wrote:FWK, are you new here? Big Red isn't just any D3 team. They would have won the state last year if that kid didn't hit the official. Beating Big Red is a great way for us to show the WV kids that Massillon is the better option in Ohio.Lockup Screen;1136885 wrote:Congrats, the All-mightly Massillon has the eyes and determination to dominate a D3 school. -

FairwoodKingThe old days where Massillon pounded Big Red every year are gone. In today's world, both teams are equal and neither is going to dominate the other.

We have been close to a state title a few years. We will win our first title this year! Through our combine and open enrollment, we are building a dynasty. Just look at some of the kids that we had try out at our combine. http://espn.go.com/high-school/football/events/nike-sparq-combines/2012/story/_/id/7694429/massillon-ohio-nike-football-sparq-combine-recap What team in Ohio can realistically compete with us?Lockup Screen;1137213 wrote:No doubt Big Red isnt just any d3 team, They are a state contender every year. We will dominate Big Red. We tryout kids from 6 different states. The only other state that Big Red has is WV. We are going to win the battle for WV kids. We had several try out at our combine this year. Once we win the battle the for WV, it is lights out for Big Red in this rivalry.FairwoodKing;1137271 wrote:The old days where Massillon pounded Big Red every year are gone. We will beat you by at least 20. It will be more than that if we keep the first team in the entire game. Have you even looked at our combine and the video of the stud lineman that we are bringing in. We will go 15-0!FairwoodKing;1138033 wrote:This isn't the 1970's. Gone are the days when you can destroy us every year. -
