    :@
Anyone who still doubts that there are many St Paul haters around the area, this should prove the point.

    Amazingly sad and unbelievable...........

Actually it proves no such thing. Could be one person. It's certainly no more than a handful.

    Congrats St. Paul.

don't let a group of ignorant people bring you down.
  • Arnold
It's possible this is not a St Paul hater, just some miserable people who hate to see success and happiness. There are so many people who just can't stand success or nice things in general. If they can't be happy then no one else should be either. There's a lot of general destruction of property in addition to this one incident. Don't want this to turn into bad blood against other schools, cause I would bet you that's not the case.
  • Polecat
Just read in the reflector that it was two western reserve juniors
  • oozwaj
Probably two of the WR players who sat in the st paul's stands at Ashland and openly cheered for the other team. Or maybe the one's who started a facebook page titled "Why we hate St paul's"?

Yea I'm sure they are all coincidences!?!?

" because the paper towels or toilet paper were doused with an accelerant and thrown on the flammable sign."

Congratulations to those two young men to be the first people from Western Reserve to use toilet paper (I can say that, I grew up in the district, unfortunately).
  • Squirmydog
They can damage the sign but they can't damage the accomplishment. Congrats to a class program.
  • CardsFlyinHigh
Shame someone would try to ruin a school's accomplishments like that. Only making their own school look classless and ignorant
  • MessyDinosaur
Lets not look at the negatives. Think about it like this WR fans, at least your program made the paper. Had to joke while I could. Sad thing to happen though. The last time the Flyers had property vandalized they beat their opponent by a margin of 72 and set 3 scoring records. And the team was not a terrible team, they were probably 4th or 5th in conference.

Some kid thats angry he didn't get recruited to St. Paul.

I KID! Congrats St. Paul. You'll learn that its awful lonely here at the top, but its sweet going to bed at night knowing your team is state champions 2009.

dont understand people at all.... why would any other program be jealous... Should be honored to have a league/area team accomplish such a feat. It makes your area look better, makes your league look better.. but same holds true in the SBC- our girls win state, got margaretta people in the stands dressed in red, sittin with huronites, and cheerin on the girls...then you look around find another school looking like it was a funeral (guess at least they were there) .. but its so stupid to see this kind of rediculous nonsense.. punish them to the extreme!

    Amen Sportsvideo!

The WR students were not athletes, according to the story online today.
  • MessyDinosaur
Athletes or not, it doesn't justify a single thing.

But why so much negativity from the same school? Wouldn't you think that the school district would be very disappointed with all this pattern of very poor behavior towards St Paul? Unless it is condoned. Will be very interested in hearing if/what the Super or Principle does in response to all this?? A: Nothing

I even heard that people at WR were going to make up shirts with a big "SP" with a circle around it and a big strikethrough in it. And wear them to the Grove City game. It was said that the AD heard of this and put a stop to it.
  • Arnold
geez, let it drop guys. These kids are not from any "program" over there. They could be from any school, it's really irrelevant what school they go to. Don't fan the flames of hatred ok? None of the schools need this to get larger than it really is, including St Paul.
And all the rest of this stuff is rumors. Noone likes it when SP is unjustly accused of stuff, lets not do it to anyone else.
  • oozwaj
I disagree. There is a distinct pattern of hatred from 1 of the other schools in the league. 1500 fans in our stands saw them with our own eyes, so no rumors here. My opinion is that THE SCHOOL should address it. This type of behavior starts at the top. Sorry if you disagree.

Plus I bet we will find out that these hoods will be closer to FB then is now being reported....... just leave it at that

Was that not the score at halftime?
  • MessyDinosaur
72 to 6 was I believe.... and then Matt Wilde returned the opening kick of the second half. It could have been worse I believe Isaac Livengood had a 47 yard run and got downed on the 1 yardline. Coach Livengood called for 4 straight knees.

    Well said.

No damaged sign can take a way the fact that the Flyers are State Champions
  • sandwalk
Luckily St. Paul's main/top rival is Monroeville (and a classy one at that); the Eagles and the Flyers have a great, mutual respect for one another.

I wish I could say the same for Western.

Don't allow a few to taint or tarnish the amazing season you guys have had... Keep your heads high and shoulders back! You guys deserve the "State Swagger!"
