Andy MacDonald will travel with the team this weekend and according to Capuano may play in one or both games.
The New York Islanders announced this morning the emergency call up of Sound Tigers defensemen Dylan Reese from Bridgeport on an emergency basis. Andy MacDonald is day-to-day with a leg injury. And suffering uffering a right leg injury in Tuesday’s 2-1 victory in Buffalo.
Reese played extremely well during the pre-season. Not bad. Still keeps us on the small level. Would have preferred Wishart, but Reese is a good choice to.
Reese appeared in 27 games for the New York Islanders during the 2010-11 season contributing six assists for six points and was a -12.? Hope Reese plays well enough to stay when A Mac gets healthy. that will force Management to sit Eaton or Mattou. Because if he is playing well and they send him back to BP it will be very obvious that this team is not committed on winning!
Alexis zhouRoethlisberger leaves practice with hurt broken thumb
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger injured his broken right thumb taking a snap Thursday and did not finish practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, Roethlisberger said he is OK and doesn’t anticipate any problem being able to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Roethlisberger had his right hand wrapped in an ice pack on the field after leaving practice.
He hit his right hand (and broken right thumb) on a helmet while throwing a pass, according to The Pittsburgh Steelers. Post-Gazette.
Roethlisberger, who has been wearing a glove on his right hand to cover the protective sleeve on his thumb, didn’t appear to have any problems throwing in the victory Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. He even threw with the same velocity.
The thumb injury didn't affect Roethlisberger despite the fact that he passed for a season-low 193 yards last Sunday. He didn't appear to have any problems throwing the ball in Kansas City, and it looked like he threw with the same velocity.
An injury hasn't forced Roethlisberger to miss a game since November 2009, when he suffered postconcussion symptoms.
Backup Charlie Batch finished practice and would be the starter if there was further unexpected problem with Roethlisberger. -
Alexis zhouSam Bradford sat out the game with 49ers
St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
The 49ers is the fact that fullback Bruce Miller is active, but that was expected. He was cleared to play very early in the week and was good to go, but with a head injury, there was always a chance that the team held him out.
Receiver Braylon Edwards is also out, which in my mind, is a good thing. He was a liability out there and needs to be 100% for the playoffs.
Fellow game-time decision DE Chris Long (ankle) is active, while Danario Alexander (hamstring) will return after a five-game absence.
Five weeks after guiding the Rams to a stunning victory over the New Orleans Saints, A.J. Feeley will make his third start of the season. He's only worth starting against the 49ers' elite defense in two-QB leagues if you gambled Bradford would be a go. Also inactive for the St.Louis Rams are S Darian Stewart, RB Cadillac Williams, LB Josh Hull, OT Kevin Hughes, OT Mark LeVoir and DE C.J. Ah You.
Finally, the Rams' 26-0 loss to the San Francisco 49ers .
