Go FalconsYep! This type of discussion should keep the newbies coming back for more.
Red would it not be better to do the pick'em in a separate thread to keep the flow of intelligent thought going with out interruption and it would make it a lot easier for you to sort it out. -

Miyagi always says "Half the battle is looking good while your doing it." Besides the UA ones sure were not helping.madman11;1242789 wrote:I'm waiting until after their scrimmage friday before I say anything. sydflNW vs East Knox Scrim: If you are keeping score, it was 21 - 7 Huskies with all varsity teams from both sides in. 28 - 14 with some starters removed towards the middle of scrim to nurse small injuries.
Offense:- Passing Game - took some time to get into a groove. After about 2 series it seems the QB started hitting some simple out patterns and TE go routes. WR's need to do a better job actually finding a good route and not just running. It's almost like they are stingy to the route and not looking for a good pattern based on what the D is giving them. They need to get open better. No passes to the RBs but there were many times that outlet was open so I believe it will be an option. Good to see some different schemes than previous years.. I believe it is because of at least a throwing capable QB. QB needs to do a better job seeing the blitz and adjusting instead of going ahead with the play. He has good feet and should be able to make that happen with more practice.
- Running Game - QB passing the ball opened up some nice running yards for the Huskies. 3 different backs carried the ball efficiently and all of them seem to have good vision of what is happening on the field. Again seen several formations that we have not really seen in the past and most seem to work very well.
- Linemen - Need to work on their blocking. Too many times guys were disrupting the backfield. Can't tell if it was missed assignments or wrong blocking scheme but the coaches seem to focus their attention there last night more than anything. One high snap lead to East Knox scoring a D touchdown.
- Passing Game - started out ok but there were some definite breakdowns in coverage at times. Their WR's starting finding the hole between LB's and DB's. Some adjustments were made by the coaches and they seemed to have sealed that up with the LB's dropping in coverage a little deeper. The LB's were solid in defense of any short passes and covered up good or made tackles pretty quick on slants. The overall concern here was the down field coverage. The DB's were playing way to soft and giving a lot of ground to the WR's. Not sure if that was by design or lack of understanding by player but this area will need to be cleaned up for sure. We did not give away any home run balls but we gave up too many 10 - 15 yarders.
- Running Game - not much to talk about here. The defensive running game was about as good as you could ask for last night. Several times after some starters were pulled to nurse some nagging injuries they exploited the backup but overall a real good job here. Several sacks by the LB's as they got after them last night.
- Linemen - Seemed to do a lot better on D. These are basically the same guys from O line with a few changes but they were aggressive and got after the backfield on several occasions. Some missed assignments up front allowed a couple of good runs but that was about it

Text "follow AndrewMarcum" (without quotations) to 40404, and you will get all my score/update Tweets as text messages. Text "unfollow AndrewMarcum" to stop getting them. A smart phone is NOT needed to receive these updates.sydfl;1243107 wrote:Hey Pitt...do you have your Twitter feeders set up for this year yet?
As for who's sending me updates, I haven't gone asking, yet. I'd like to get someone from every school in the WCAL, PAC, and OCC, if I can.
1_beast normally does a good job for Waynedale. Still in, beast?
Who else is there? If you need my cell number, let me know and I'll PM you (don't PM me first, my box is filling up)
Or if you know of a Twitter account that tweets all scores, I can follow that, too.

If You, 4XRingz, Fatiyagi & Obese Rum would push back from the dinner table once in awhile, maybe all those kids from Central America wouldn't be starving.

elitesmithie05The league HAS to do better out of conference for more teams to get in the playoffs. It killed Hillsdale last year when you play several teams with 1-3 wins. What are peoples expectations for the league heading into week4?

If I see the dog up here, I'll get it fixed.
I absolutely agree. It seems like they're doing that with Loudonville, Mogadore, CVCA, etc. showing up on the non-league schedules.elitesmithie05;1243468 wrote:The league HAS to do better out of conference for more teams to get in the playoffs. Hooser will be a senior this year. Rumor is that he will be playing QB this year but I'll believe it when I see it. I think they win 2 or 3 games with him at QB vs 1 maybe 2 with DennisRed Rum;1243456 wrote:Madman...

THE4RINGZNWN having Black River on the schedule could give them a boost come play off time. People are expecting big things from the pirates this season.
I am repping all my WCAL Bros. -

Red RumWCAL has gone 10-14 out of conference the last 2 years. It's real difficult to judge how things will go this year, but right now I'm hoping for .500
Hillsdale....Manchester, Bucyrus and Loudonville
The Falcons could find themselves 1-2 if their growing pains are too severe.
Northwestern...Crestview, Black River and Mogadore
It's vital the Huskies take care of business at Crestview because Black River and Mogadore are going to be big time measuring sticks
Smithville...Loudonville, Mogadore and Fairless
Tough sleddin' out of the box for Team Green. Besancon has his work cut out for him.
Dalton...Garaway, Tuslaw and Timken
I have no idea here, Dawgs could go 3-0 or 0-3. Would like to hear some Dalton fan opinions on this....1486, luckydog, dh22, etc.
Norwayne...Wellington, CVCA at Western Reserve
3-0?...hard to knock the defending state champs. I do agree w/Pitman that CVCA could be trouble.
Waynedale...Tusky, Ridgewood and Triway
Sounds like things aren't going well in the creek. I'll defer to Beast or Iced Earth on this teams chances
Rittman...Danville, Cle Knights and Mapleton
I find the Cle Knights game oddly interesting....I also found the Mapleton game interesting last year and we know how that went. Good luck tribe!
Chippewa....doesn't matter who, 3-0...They ain't rollin' over for anyone!

Go FalconsI was hoping to go the Hillsdale -Tusky Valley scrimmage but will not be able to get out of work early to make it.

Loss at Manchester, lose to Bucyrus and beat Loudonville.
Northwestern...Crestview, Black River and Mogadore
It's vital the Huskies take care of business at Crestview because Black River and Mogadore are going to be big time measuring sticks
Beat Crestview, lose in a close one to br, get pounded by Mogadore.
Smithville...Loudonville, Mogadore and Fairless
Tough sleddin' out of the box for Team Green. Besancon has his work cut out for him.
Only win the Fairless game.
Dalton...Garaway, Tuslaw and Timken
I have no idea here, Dawgs could go 3-0 or 0-3. Would like to hear some Dalton fan opinions on this....1486, luckydog, dh22, etc.
Beat Garaway, Tuslaw too close to call, lose to Timken.
Norwayne...Wellington, CVCA at Western Reserve
3-0?...hard to knock the defending state champs. I do agree w/Pitman that CVCA could be trouble.
CVCA gets them, they go 2-1
Waynedale...Tusky, Ridgewood and Triway
Sounds like things aren't going well in the creek. I'll defer to Beast or Iced Earth on this teams chances
Beat Tusky in a close one, get pounded by Ridgewood, return the favor in Week 3.
Rittman...Danville, Cle Knights and Mapleton
I find the Cle Knights game oddly interesting....I also found the Mapleton game interesting last year and we know how that went. Good luck tribe!
Lose to Danville, Mapleton is a close game, and The Knights think coming to Rittman is a big time move for their program, I like the Tribe in that one.
Chippewa....doesn't matter who, 3-0...They ain't rollin' over for anyone!
FTW the Chipps are back. They go 0-3, don't lay down just get run over.

thePITmanMan, Hillsdale has a brutal non-conference schedule. I think they'll be very good, but that's a meat grinder out of the gate. They'll need to grow up quickly.
