Actually, that's what I heard from Rider fans prior to playng Norwayne last fall!

Cleveland Knights???.. What kind of a joke is that for the WCAL?i thought our conference just won a state championship? I also was checkingon maxpreps some of the area schedules and saw Cleveland Knights on rittman's and thought it was a mistake. I dont know what is going on in rittman but they must be pretty desperate for some wins.

In all fairness, Manchester scheduled the Columbus Crusaders several years ago, and they're the same kind of team. Non-OHSAA sanctioned, so the game didn't count. Team was comprised of mostly home-schooled kids and students at Worthington Christian, since they didn't have football.

I do believe the score was a drubbing, to be fair. Something like 42-0, Manchester. Can't say I see the same happening for the "house that Besancon began to build ... and Dennis has torn down."
THE4RINGZ;1177973 wrote:Does a win over the Cleveland Knights even count as a win for Harbin points as they are a club and not a HS team?

Won't count. If they also have Week 1 open, their L1 divisor will only be 8, which is (I think) the minimum to even qualify for the playoffs.

Nah, he'll pull it out in the final seconds with a secret play ... a SCREEN pass!

Hopefully, you're right, even though it wouldn't actually hurt any other teams in the league from a second-level points standpoint.

I wondered who would be the first to drop the Norwayne hammer in the above conversation

11am and the temp is pushing 90 in northern wayne county. The rain deficit is growing as the area becomes a dust bowl.......

The bright side is......Norwaynes football field is finally in playable condition

NOTE: to everyone who lost a vehicle in the mud at Norwayne last year during the Hillsdale game....salvage operations begin tomorrow.

That would be pretty big news

Don't you actually have to move to avoid sitting out a year?

I believe so once you have established your student career at one school.

Madman correct me if l'm wrong, but l believe the Bauman family has bought a house in the Marshallville area.
  • Ritt What
Unless you live in Rittman, I don't think it is a big deal. We are very sad to see one of our own go, but at the same time you have to do what you want, when you have the chance. The scary thing is, I dont think Bryce will be one of Smithville's top 4 SKILLED players. It will be interesting to see what happens to him. I definitely can see him contributing on defense, whether at Smithville, Rittman, or any other team in the league. If he carries the ball on offense, it will be taking carries away from much better runners IMO. I am sure Besancon has a plan.

He always has. It just took him a little longer to make it come to fruition!

LOL! And a brother on the school board
  • Bloody Toothbrush
Does Rittman have a soccer team?
If they do, it certainly won't be long until Smithville cherry picks that roster too.

EVIL IS STILL AFOOT IN SMITHVILLE!!!!
  • THE4RINGZ
    Is Smithville the new Orrville?

I think vball is still a little raw about losing to Beast. Some Wayne County Mafia backlash may be forthcoming:laugh:

    On the Rittman situation.....

Things seem to be getting worse (except girls track, congrats tribe!)
I'd love to hear some Rittman fans weigh in on the state of Indian Affairs.

Pardon my ignorance but who is Bryce Bauman?

I have no idea but when Rittman starts losing players due to transfer, it is never a good thing. They need all the help they can get. I actually root for The entire WCAL to be tough and competitive. I liked the days when there was never a game that we would all be unanimous about. It brings about a lot more discussion on here if Rittman and Doylestown are back in the mix

Heard Rittman is getting a couple million dollars worth of renovations for girls & boys track, baseball, and a few other sports. Any truth to this? And if so, any effect on football?

It is true, but the renovations are for track and soccer. Apparently no love for the football program.
