Carey agreed to join the new League we are told because of a shrinking gate in the MAL. Football is king at Carey and funds most of the other sports, so money is a big consideration though I doubt that the Northern 10 will be much better. Carey and Wynford used to be bitter rivals most of the actual fights that I've seen Carey involved in included Wynford with 1 being with Buckeye Central the last time they met in football (the game was called with 8 minutes to play). I would rather see Upper Sandusky in the League than either Ridgedale or Crestline, I agree Upper got screwed. I'm wondering if Upper will continue playing Carey in a nonleague game (huge gate for both schools). Carey lead Wynforsd 15-10 when the old NCC broke up and I don't see Wynford dominating either Carey or Mohawk now. Seneca East has good athletes but tends to underachieve although they would be my pick to win the MAL next season with Carey and Hopewell Louden both reloading.
As a Carey resident and football fan I don't see this as any improvement (I hope I'm wrong)
The Carey -Riverdale game used to be a big game but with Riverdale having only 24 players out this year and Carey dominating the last 20 years that they played, that game has very little interest for me. I think that this will be a mediocre League in all sports.
