Week 12 Canton McKinley(9-2) vs Toledo Whitmer(11-0) @ Mansfields Arlin Field
-
McKAlumni07Well this seems to be a monster matchup and seems to have plenty of star power. McKinley overcame a sluggish first half to blow out south view in the second half last week and Whitmer seems to have rolled to a victory. Does this help the bulldogs since they had a tougher game and quite possibly a more competitive schedule? We shall see saturday at 7:00 what do you all think?
-
rmolin73Throw the schedules out the door. This one will be a doozy I will take Whitmer in a close one.
-
Laley23Ill go Whitmer 24-13. I think their defense will be too much. So much talent all over the field on that side of the ball.
-
Thinthickbigredthis might be an entertaining game to see .. Big time game .. i wish i lived close Id go to this one
-
rmolin73Thinthick I would even have offered to buy your ticket. Given all the crap I have given you on here. Whitmers coach will not try and play man coverage on a team with the same athletes. Palka won't spread his athletes thin by having them go both ways.
-
McKAlumni07Well it is Thursday now and so far this week in the Canton Rep we have heard about some OHSAA investigation about Whitmer, Mckinley's freshman RB, and the writers all picked McK except one(which I hate when Todd Porter picks us =\) lol... Go Bulldogs

McKinley could be playing the Green Bay Packers and most of the goofs on that panel would pick McKinley. -

Wait, investigation? Is this more from the last ruling saying that Whitmer was eligible for the postseason. Which in turn stems from the transfer of LeRoy Alexander.McKAlumni07;966221 wrote:Well it is Thursday now and so far this week in the Canton Rep we have heard about some OHSAA investigation about Whitmer, Mckinley's freshman RB, and the writers all picked McK except one(which I hate when Todd Porter picks us =\) lol... I expect that to go a bit longer, but I figured when they ruled Whitmer eligible we wouldnt hear anything more till next year. -

My understanding, from what I read in the Rep, was that the investigation was still ongoing, but they allowed Whitmer to move on to the playoffs. -

As for the game. Goodness is Whitmers defense good. I didnt think they would be tested in this region. After last week I thought McKinley could give them a bit of a game, but they should roll next week as well. -
McKAlumni07I wasn't goin to post tonight... But I've got a rough hour long bus ride here to process what just happened.. Our team overcame a last minute Massillon touchdown to make the playoffs.. A tough first Half vs south view... And now tonight down 7-0 at the half the Panthers man handled, dominated, pushed our boys around.. We got beat physically and mentally.. Whitmer is fast, crazy fast. We had ten several times at 2 and 18 or 3 and 11.. And couldn't get a stop. Our offense seemed like they hadn't played a team this good all season, an frankly that may be true... Whitmer is strong, athletic, quick and disciplined.. Which McKinley was not tonight.. Way too man silly penalties(some were very weak calls)... But in the end Some of Mckinley's team(NOT all of them)... Took too many cheap shots and the coach pulled them from the game as he should have.. In the end the better team won tonight.. I really never saw a 37-6 blowout coming tonight...

hoops23Whitmer is the real deal.
It'll be interesting to see them match up against a team like St. X or one of the Cleveland powers. -

Nice to see you back coyotes lol -
rmolin73This was a very dominant defensive performance by Whitmer. I don't think that Wormley can be blocked at the HS level. Palka is clearly the best coach in NWO.

skankI obviously don't know who's gonna win and what matchups we're gonna see from here on out, but I would really like to see a Whitmer/Mentor matchup in the semis.

I got to go to 3 of there 2 a days this year for a special our station did on HS football. The way he runs his practice is awesome. More organized than some colleges Ive seen and the coaches all know EXACTLY what they want out on the field.rmolin73;970455 wrote:This was a very dominant defensive performance by Whitmer. rmolin73Mayzes needs to take a page out of Palka' book. Palka played his playmakers he cycled in certain players like Nigel at defensive end and putting Lucas at corner. He stuck to what was working and they never went away from it. It was impressive.

Crimson streakWhitmer is the real deal. I really hope they don't get busted. I've been hearing some players gave addresses to where they live and Ohsaa looked into them and it led them to abandoned houses and lots. I dk how true it is but it would be a damn shame
