And yet, Doug Davault is still employed with his sideline pacing, and his lack of emotion. 50 wins in 6 years...would like to see anyone find fault with that.
A couple of differences if I may: Paterno and Tressel ran crooked programs and obviously on a lot smaller level Davault runs a good program. On the flipside Paterno and Tressel have won multiple titles in their coaching years and Davault hasnt won any. Could this be the year? Norwayne might have something to say about it. One game at a time I guess -

Please, Paterno and Tressel can't be compared on the events that took place in their programs.Red Rider Nation;965812 wrote:A couple of differences if I may: Paterno and Tressel ran crooked programs and obviously on a lot smaller level Davault runs a good program. They both turned a blind eye to what was going on. Not exactly something a leader does. Go spew your argument elsewhere. -

You just have to read the Orrville thread after the Senior and Ashland games..... They found all kinds of faults....RedRider1;965753 wrote:In 12 months....Tressel fired (resigned, but we know what it really was)....and now JoePa.

Tends to happen when losing to teams you shouldnt lose to. Do you think Nick Saban who is in my mind the best coach in the country didnt take a lot of criticism this week for not even scoring a touchdown at home against LSU? The old saying goes when the team is doing well the coach gets no credit and when the team is losing he or she takes all the blame. Its part of what you sign up for. After all that stuff was said Orrville has been perfect and the penalties have been few and far between. I think the coaches have done a nice job cleaning it all up! -

Yes I seem to recall certain "fans" calling the coaches an embarrasssment, and we would have to go 8-2 and still not have a home playoff game, or with the personal fouls a certain player should be benched or kicked off the team and now if the same player better start or they are leaving after the game starts.:laugh::laugh:you think you know;965862 wrote:You just have to read the Orrville thread after the Senior and Ashland games..... I would agree with OQB, and RR1, but 5knots is a little sketchy.thePITman;965024 wrote:I would vote 5knots, OQB, and RR1 as the top 3, IMO, in no particular order. -

Aaron DorksenI did talk with Red Rider Nation, but have absolutely no idea why he would think I have an axe to grind against Orrville. That's laughable to think I'm a football beat writer for The DR and don't like our area's historically best team - it's simply not true at all. I enjoy covering ALL the schools in the area. I understand every now and then people might not like an article we write but I'll stand by my record of covering Orrville since 1997 with hundreds of articles and making lots of friends there. Good luck to both teams Saturday -- and thanks for drawing me out RRN to create an account here. I can join my co-worker Mike Plant with some posts now and then.Red Rider Nation;965605 wrote:I had a very interesting conversation with Aaron Dorksen yesterday. For those of you who think he has an axe to grind against Orrville you no longer have to think it. HE DOES!

OQBWell what do you know....Dorksen and Plant signed in to the OC late at night at the same time. Might they be looking for another post to quote in the paper? Hmm...
