    Good luck to the Warriors.

Any word on a field change or is it staying at Norwayne?
  • thePITman
I just called Norwayne High School. They are still awaiting a call from the State (I'm assuming the OHSAA) with the final decision. The lady said it sounds as if it is going to be Cloverleaf, but they are not sure and cannot confirm yet.

I also called Norwayne and heard the same. Looking as if the folks from Brookfield can head to town early and spend the day shopping at the outlets. Finally a treat for the MOMS!

Norwayne's home playoff game vs Brookfield officially moved to Cloverleaf.

Like someone else said, this definitely doesn't hurt Norwayne.

Definately doesn't hurt Brookfield either. Everyone gets a step quicker on turf it seems! I don't know what Brookfield brings to the game speed wise, but I can see where Norwayne may have the advantage being a team that can spread the field and throw the ball.

I'm not sure why anyone would suggest a field with stands on just one side of the stadium but that wouldn't be appropriate for any playoff game. Cloverleaf should work out well. Good luck Norwayne!

Seems like people are blowing off the Warriors. Let me tell you something, they should be 10-0, They had a very bad night at Niles. Since then, they have rolled teams and have some serious momentum. The whole community will be at this game, and they will come to play. Go Blue! Good luck to the Warriors, rep the valley well.

If anyone was to blow off an opponent, it'd be Norwayne. See week 9.

On a serious note, it sounds to me like it should be a really good, evenly-matched game. I am rooting for the Bobcats to win, but they'll need to play well. They are darn good, though.

Most of the people posting on here Spread are Wayne County folks. They're just backing the local team. That's what happens on these threads. The odd thing is that I dont know if anyone from Norwayne has even posted on here. I will tell you this, Norwayne is very good. They score a bunch. I think they average 47 or 48 per game and give up less than 10. They have a bunch of weapons. It's hard to key on one player. 5 very good WR's, 2 very good RB's and a beast for a QB. They can score in a hurry
  • 1_beast
Im certainly not a fan of Norwayne....however....tis the post season, so I will climb onboard the bandwagon and hope for their extended success. I know absolutely NOTHING about Brookfield.
  • OQB
Key to the game for Brookfield is going to be their ability to run the ball, stopping the zimmerly brothers, and getting pressure on Adam Wallace......if you can do those two things they will have an excellent shot at beating the bobcats.

I don't understand why it's a big deal if the Cats starters don't play the 4th quarter... yeah, the Cats score quickly, but this is the playoffs. They're going to NEED all 4 quarters for a victory. Good thing their starters had to play 4 quarters against two playoff caliber teams (unfortunate for Hillsdale) the last two weeks to prep them.
  • RedRider1
They played all 4 quarters the last two weeks. It's a Non-issue

THE4RINGZ;952045 wrote:When trading films this week, I wonder if Norwayne sent a copy of the Smithville game?

I'm sure they did. Hillsdale, Smithville, and Wellington (only other playoff team on their schedule) would be my guess.
Old Rider;952196 wrote:I just wonder if Smithville will send the "other tape" to Brookfield...shut down corner, x factor, big ten baby...those are all important things that I hope Smithville passes along!

Doubtful, as Smithville is likely rooting for its conference rival now that they are in the playoffs in a different division.

Rest assured that this Norwayne team wouldn't dream of overlooking an opponent. The popular consensus is that they probably did that leading up to Week 9, which would have likely accounted for their only loss of the season. Once you get burned like that, you don't do it again.

You forgot one that I'll mention below.

O-Trap's Breakdown of the Creston Norwayne Bobcats:

    1. Adam Wallace is a manchild, and rightfully the MVP of the WCAL this year. Tough kid, as he's also an inside linebacker on defense. He's an excellent runner and has a lot of arm strength. If I could think of one weakness after having seen him, he's not a precision passer downfield.

    2. The WRs on Norwayne are very good ... very fast with good hands.

    3. The RB tandem are hard to tell apart. Their running style is very similar, from what I saw. They aren't "make-you-miss" speed guys. They're North-and-South power runners. Strong guys.

    4. The offensive line isn't huge, but they're relatively quick.

    5. The defense covers well downfield and they play delayed runs pretty well. The one weakness they showed against Smithville was that they were slow to react to a quick hand-off up the middle.

    6. To win the game, Brookfield must:
    • Hit Wallace ... a lot. He's tougher than any other QB I've seen, but if you don't give him room to move or for the play to develop, you can limit the damage he does.
    • Stuff the middle. It's the strength of their running game, and it would force them to open it up.
    • Run the ball successfully. They guard the pass very well, and they prefer having their offense on the field, which brings me to the most important one.
    • OWN time of possession. What Smithville did that proved most damaging to their scoring ability was dominating the clock with long, long, LONG drives (I think one was 12 minutes). The Bobcats were only able to run 7 plays in the second half due to that.
All in all, I am not telling the team anything they can't know from watching game film, but this will hopefully help the Brookfield fans know what to expect.

Slight chance of rain tonight. Chances even less until next Tuesday. So the field should be fairly dry.
