Week 11 - Region 13 - (7) LaBrae Vikings at (2) Orrville Red Riders
-
OQBExactly, this is the playoffs....show up or go home!
-
5knotsCF beat us 33-0 week nine. Genoa beats CF week 12. We handle Genoa wee 13. Nuff said! Watched librae last night in a couple games. Very solid club. Play a pretty decent schedule as well. Team who plays the best Saturday night will play again. Exactly like play off football should be
One of those games was girard. Game was very close at half then the wheels came off for librae. Fumble, pick six, fumbled next kickoff and in a two minute span it was over. Girard reminds me of Ashland. Spread with a tough running qb and very good athletes. They will be a handful for anyone I hope it's us!!! -
OQBDoes anyone have the stats for the Labrae players?

BigDean1Good luck to the LaBrae Vikings.

beverboy1ill take orrville

Flash46 seasons. He's forgot more than I know about football. That may not be much, but ....
-
OhioYeah girard also lost their RB but he did not play against Labrae either.

5knotsSafe to say throughout the season if a division 4 school is without a key player or two it can have a big effect. That is why I don't give much weight to season scores. If you are playing week 11 you have more than likely overcome some adversity during the season and are closer to full strength than you were for a while.

Your point is ? How do you think Norwayne would fair in the OCC, there are no Rittmans, Daltons, Doylestowns, Waynedales, Smithvilles, oh wait you lost to Smithville. My point is Norwayne played nowhere near the opponents orrville played. If they had they would be seeded higher than a 3 loss team. You can't base anything on who beat who if we both win maybe we will get to settle it on the field.Bobcat;952048 wrote:Just a quick note to the Riders faithful.. LaBrae lost to CVCA who got crushed by Norwayne. Good luck on Saturday! -

Stats seem to add up to 2100 yds passing and 2900 rushing yards which would be about 490 yards per game, so something is strange there because if you average nearly 500 yards a game how do you go 6-4 against a mostly D4,5, & 6 schedule?

 They average 58 rushes and 30 passes per game.riders1;952569 wrote:Stats seem to add up to 2100 yds passing and 2900 rushing yards which would be about 490 yards per game, so something is strange there because if you average nearly 500 yards a game how do you go 6-4 against a mostly D4,5, & 6 schedule?
Little of what one reads on the vindy blitz is accurate, that goes for LaBrae stats and most everyone else's. -
RedRider1Vindy is good for Friday night scores from the YTown area but not much else.

I thought the same thing, it really seems high.riders1;952569 wrote:Stats seem to add up to 2100 yds passing and 2900 rushing yards which would be about 490 yards per game, so something is strange there because if you average nearly 500 yards a game how do you go 6-4 against a mostly D4,5, & 6 schedule? -
footballnutI think the point Bobcat is making Red Rider81 is that he doesnt feel like the Riders will have any trouble. Someones a little high strung.

Sounds like it's time for my annual story relating to common opponents, pull up a chair kids. I tell this one every year this time.
My middle school basketball coach played at The College of Wooster in the early 1970's, they had a decent team and decided one time to run the match ups against common opponets, kind of like the Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon thing. After doing some math they decided that using this formula, they would have lost to the might Bruins of UCLA that season by a mere three points. Maybe you don't remember what UCLA did in the early 1970's, Google it.
So be wary of falling for the common opponent trap. Go out and play the game.
Good call 4Ringz. Never been a big fan of saying we beat them and they beat so and so and we should beat them! -

RedRider1Holy moses...Labrae's head coach Bill Bohren has coached at 8 different schools in the past 36 years.
Ottawa-Glandorf and Steubenville in the 70's, Lakeview, Boardman, Salem, Niles Mckinley and now Labrae.
Has coached in 450+ games and is like 10 shy of 300 wins....our best coach ever (Mo) didn't even have 200 wins here. -

Wow, those are some pretty good football schools too....very impressive. -
ahaist8Bohren coached Boardman to the state finals in the late 80s and a had deep run in the playoffs with Niles as well. The shame of it is that there is a faction in LaBrae that thinks the pee wee coach should be the head coach.
I am hoping a guy with Bohren's experience knows a voodoo doctor to get all the players healthy for Saturday. -

That has definitely been the story for the Vikings. Szorady went out on the first series against Newton Falls and his back up went out in the second quarter. They both tried to play against Jefferson and Girard but were not effective at all. They still looked hobbled against Steubenville. I don't know too many schools with 30 some players who can be successful with a third string tailback. It usually means moving a player from another position to fill in so you get weaker at two or even three positions, not to mention defense which is where these players may be missed most.5knots;952519 wrote:Safe to say throughout the season if a division 4 school is without a key player or two it can have a big effect. OQBIs Labrae a very small D. IV school or do they just not have a lot of kids out for football? Just curious....hard to believe a div. IV team only dresses 30 for varsity. Division V Hillsdale has close to 70 players dressed on Friday nights.
-
RedRider1What's Labrae's run/pass distribution? Sounds like they're a running team first.
Is it 60-40 run? More/less?
