I don’t remember much about the last high school football game I played my senior year. I took all the games as the same low keyed and focused. I do remember a few hits, interception, great double block, few injuries, funny things that happen during the seasons and the fun stuff we did traveling.
Only after the season was over and moving into the next sport did I began to understand that this is potentially the end of my career as a football player. I had gotten lots of letter from colleges and visited some but I knew that my situation at home and the money was not there. So after graduation I traveled to Virginia to tryout for a semipro team. I made the first cuts and worked for two weeks. In the third week the NFL Pros showed up.. those guys that where cut but still had a contracts or contracts pending or to looked at to be picked up. I did not make the fourth week, then I knew my career in football was over. When I returned home I received a draft notice to report for duty. The end of my career….
