Eatwood (9-0) @ Genoa (9-0)?
-
buhrdogTwo undefeated teams in the last week of the regular season. The first ever NBC title on the line.
Any thoughts, predictions, and insight? -
RedRider1Both teams have put up amazingly similar numbers. Can't wait to hear the outcome.
What's Genoa's regular season win streak up to now? Gotta be close to 50. -
OQBThis game is going to be epic...but somehow I think the Comets will be kicking field goals on first down!
-
buhrdogGenoa has won 48 regular season games in a row. Eastwood has beaten Clyde and Patrick Henry. I think this game is going to come down to ball control. Anyone going to the game...let me know how the atmosphere is. I can't make since I live out of state.

That is hilarious.OQB;944869 wrote:This game is going to be epic...but somehow I think the Comets will be kicking field goals on first down! -
bwcomet89I'll be there, and I already know it's going to be packed. I think 3 years ago when they played each other the got up over 4000 in attendance which is pretty good for two hick schools. I feel like this year will be the same.
-
Classyposter58They had 5000 bw and 6000 for the playoff game. From the sound of it they expect another 6k attendance since Eagle fans are actually optimistic about this game
-
cometprideWhat an awesome thing for this league to have such a huge inaugural championship game! Maybe i'm a little biased, but i still see the comets being the more solid of the two..i'll take Genoa 42-20, goodluck to both teams on an injury free game

C'mon OQB, everybody knows it is way cooler to overcome 5 turnovers in a half AND win the gameOQB;944869 wrote:This game is going to be epic...but somehow I think the Comets will be kicking field goals on first down! -
riders1With a quick look, it appears that win or lose, both teams could have a home game next week.
-
Go RidersWhat I want to know are details. Who has the better QB, RB? What kind of offense do these teams run? What kind of defense? Looks on paper to be a great game to be hyped about.
-
bwcomet89I'd say Eastwood has the slight edge with their QB, but Genoa has much better running backs. They both run a Wing-T, but Eastwood tends to spread it out for a type of run and shoot offense. Genoa runs a multiple front defense, predominantly a 5-3. Eastwood runs kind of a 5-2? I'm not a hundred percent on that. Eastwood's defense isn't as good as it was years ago and I'm not sure what happened. But if I had to predict, Genoa will be able to score on Eastwood's defense, it will be a matter of if Eastwood can keep up. It seems like Vicars and Speiss know Eastwood's playbook as well as Rutherford does, as I've watched this match up every year and it seems like Genoa always knows where to shift pre-snap.
-
clickclickboomIts a little upsetting that half the posts on here are from Orrville people, but that kinda goes with this entire website.... but as far as the game goes I haven't been this excited about a football game since i played its been hyped like crazy and was made the last game of the season for a reason. Now Eastwood has 2 huge wins but gave up alot of points in those games.
What i see to be the biggest issue is that since Vicars took over as head coach Eastwood has only scored 12 points per game, they need to find a way to move the ball if they want a chance at winning this game.. Also Genoa has only scored less than 20 points once in that time as well.
I see this Game to be pretty comparable to last years game with Genoa coming out on top 35-20 -
buhrdogEastwood has always run the run and shoot. This year they switched to the wing-t. Rutherford was tired of seeing Vicars and the comets dash their league title hopes. I feel since Eastwood runs the ball Genoa's defense should be okay. The few times that Genoa has been scored on is when teams can pass on them. The pass has always hurt Genoa. If you can prevent Genoa from getting pressure on the QB then you can beat them through the air. I am thinking this game will be decided in the fourth quarter with a turnover.

bigkahunaI was hoping to go to this game, but I can't.
I talked to the AD, and he is expecting 5-6K tomorrow night. Pretty impressive. -
bwcomet89It will be interesting to see if Genoa takes Eastwood's approach to the game like they did in 09' by bringing in independent food vendors. I didn't know if I was at a football game or a carnival lol.
