Smithville Coach Keith Schrock = 250 Wins
-
Mr. RussellI don't believe in jumping the gun at all, but with Smithville (7-2) visiting Chippewa (0-9), I thought it would be appropriate to create a thread to congratulate Coach Schrock on his 250th win, if they indeed beat Chippewa this Friday. It would be great to see the Green Machine get one last shot at the playoffs for the Dean of Wayne County Coaches, but if not, win 250 and a possible share of a league title could be a fitting way to go out for the legend.

RedRider1Wow. 30 years averaging 8 wins per is only 240. An amazing testament to longevity and talented kids.
congrats. -
OQBWhat an amazing job he has done in Smithville building that program to what it is today! Averaging 8 or more wins a year in a career is just incredible, especically in high school where you use local born and raised talent.
I always get on my dad because he was part of Coach Schrock's first years at Smithville when they were not very good, haha! -
oldsmithieWhen I played for the Smithies, Schrock was an assistant, he coached the running backs! He has actually been a coach there for 42 years!!! and Head coach 35. Coach Schrock has done an amazing job in building a program!!! Congrats and here's to #250!!!! Now lets get that stadium re-named!!!
-
1_beastCongrats to Coach Schrock....I am not pleased to say i contributed to that 250....LOL but he got 2 out of us in my glory days!
Certainly...The Stadium will be named for him. -
oldsmithieThe local media and some of the boosters at Smithville have been trying for several years to get Schrocks name on that stadium! Coach Schrock was asked about re-naming the stadium after him and in true Schrock style he replied: " When I retire they will probably name a porta-potty after me" !!! lol

THE4RINGZI had two nephews who played for Schrock at Smithville.
Congratulations to The Godfather. An amazing accomplishment in a small town football program. The consistency with which he has guided teams to multiple win seasons is the most impressive part. -
oldsmithieGood luck tonight Coach Schrock! Got my fingers crossed about making the playoffs!
-
THE4RINGZLet's hope the Smithies get in, and can get a few more wins for Schrock.
-
distantsmithieNot only congratulations to Coach Schrock for 250 wins, but the quality and class of the program is virtually unrivaled. Whether they win or lose, they do it well and with class! I have heard it from opposing players and fans clear up to the state championship game of 2003. It is an achievement to be very proud of!
-
THE4RINGZCongratulations Coach.
-
bogeyFrom a Bulldog....what a great career Schrock has had! Many memories of some great Friday nights with our two teams matched up. He and Ram have made an impact on and off the field for MANY young men.
-
1_beastCongrats Schrock!!! See ya in the playoffs....and if you dont get that State Title...enjoy your winter in Florida and we'll see ya next year!!!
-
OQBIF and that is a big if this is Coach Schrock's last year on the sidelines, it couldn't of gone any better. Another wcal title, another playoff birth, and 250 wins. He is the definition of Smithville Football and they have not only had a wonderful football coach, but an amazing man that has turned so many boys into men. Job Well done coach!

2002.
That was a great year.
The Rock-Ram matchups were EPIC! I still remember having to go to OT against those darn Bulldogs my senior year! Ramsey knew how to get a LOT out of his guys ... but the Rock had his number more often than not.bogey;948778 wrote:From a Bulldog....what a great career Schrock has had! I will never forget my senior year Dalton was up 19-14 with about 40 seconds left. I snapped the ball, passed blocked, and watched the ball sail through the air in slow motion into Beichlers hands for the win. Then there was the regional final game in Orrville and as O-Trap mentioned his senior year when we went to OT. I hated the Bulldogs at the time, but that was some darn good football and I got a lot of respect for both coaches and teams.bogey;948778 wrote:From a Bulldog....what a great career Schrock has had! O-TrapThis seems appropriate here too.
-
Mr. RussellI think Schrock holding the championship belt is hilarious.
-
mompovCongratulations to Coach Schrock! It's been a nice run and Smithville is a good school and rival.
Now, retire so a newby can come in a mess things up so the rest of us have a chance! LOL -
oldsmithieHopefully Coach Schrock can add a few more wins to that resume' Good luck in the playoffs! I think everyone in Smithville will be holding their breath at the end of this season! Schrock is not commenting on the retirement question.

Coach 08I played for Coach Schrock in the 90's and he is truly a class act. It is great to see him win his 250 game he is amazing man, very humble and a joker at the same time. Also it is a true testament for his dedication for 42 years to one program, the "Smithie" program. Congrats Coach!

Yeah, there's something to be said about a down-to-earth guy who shows class, has such a mind for the game, and still loves football (he was quoted as saying so on the Daily Record article on Saturday).Coach 08;950526 wrote:I played for Coach Schrock in the 90's and he is truly a class act. riders1Just viewed the OHSAA records section and noticed that Shrock's name is not listed on the all-time coaches win list on there. Seems like an AD or sportsmedia type person should submi his name to update the OHSAA list.
