Point Breakdowns?

  • ernest_t_bass
    Can someone please sum it up for me what the point breakdowns are for HS football? Let's use a D5 team as an example. How many points will a D5 team get for beating each of the following?

    D1
    D2
    D3
    D4
    D5
    D6

    Doesn't matter what size the winning team is all get the same value for a win.
    Beat a team and the points are as follows.

    D1 = 6 pts
    D2 = 5.5 pts
    D3 = 5 pts
    D4 = 4.5 pts
    D5 = 4 pts
    D6 = 3.5 pts

    Here is the formula, if it helps:

    =(X/Z)+((Y*10)/N)

    X = L1 points
    Y = L2 points
    Z = Number of games played
    N = L2 divisor

    L1 points are awarded when you defeat a team, earning points depending on the division of the team you defeated. (see riders1's post)
    L2 points are the cumulative L1 points of all the teams you have defeated.
    Number of games played, simply. (although it must be a "recognized" game by the OHSAA)
    L2 divisor is the total number of games played by all your opponents, or something like that. (for this one I just go by JoeEitel)

    * I have added unnecessary parentheses in the above equation since we all learned the level of match proficiency of those on the OC a while back on the Serious Business forum. Haha!
