Week 7: Ashland 2-4, 2-1 at Orrville 4-2, 2-1

5knotsYep. Did not want to seem like a piling on penalty 81. I just think it very unfair to judge a staff when the effort to see for yourself was not there. Nobody hangs around practice more than "scout". Maybe you should talk to him. Oh btw I have had the pleasure of giving scout a ride to the away games. Our family should have to pay him for the entertainment Lol

RedRider1I caught the apology...and appreciate it. We're all allowed to change our opinions (or keep them to ourself).
My issue is why would the way Mo did it be the way Davault does it? Maybe Mo did play kids based on who mom and dad are...maybe he didn't.
Does that stigma deserve to be forever tied to the program just because it may have went on in the past? Just think it's unfair is all.
I appreciate your honesty though. -
Red Rider81
You are correct it was unfair to say Davault does things that way. I suffer from foot in mouth disease open mouth insert foot. Thanks for accepting apology.RedRider1;921951 wrote:I caught the apology...and appreciate it. We're all allowed to change our opinions (or keep them to ourself).

SinisterMinisterHi gentlemen! This thread is so boring without me this year! I think Ashland misses both of my boys, but this should be a good game. I have been following your Rider 5k and wish him continued luck his senior year. Go Arrows! Go Brown Bears! I actually wear red this year! (red and brown)
-
5knotsHey sinister, How is the Brown Bear doing this year? Tell him the OCC wishes him well.

BRFBRF checking in to say: Well, well, well.....well, well.....WELL....sure has been "interesting" reading! And here we are at 4-2, coming off a huge win and in the play-off hunt and we have carping about who plays and who doesn't and who gets touches and who doesn't, and Who's Who in the community. I agree with old_rider, just so we win. I will have more to say later (of course! ). For now, I give a big BRF shout out to my old friend........sinisterminister!!!
-
OQBWow, lot's of interesting stuff on here.....what's new haha!!
Sinister, Welcome back and hope your family is well!
Anyway, As the only person on here who actually "played under Davault"....I absolutely LOVED playing for him and the rest of the assistant coaches! I can assure you the coaching staff DOES NOT play kids based on parents, income, where they live, what race they are, etc....THE BEST PLAYER PLAYS every Friday night! Now what I will say about Davault is that maybe his treatment of players is different (as is with A lot of coaches), but when it comes to who plays on Friday nights....The BEST PLAYER WILL BE OUT THERE!
Bobcat made a great point about touches.....The more playmakers you have the more the ball gets spread around, that's not a bad thing!
This video of Coach Belichick pretty much sums up my feelings:

Stats are for losers, and the final score is what it's all about! As long as the Red Riders win on Friday night...I don't care how it gets done!
GO RIDERS, BEAT ASHLAND!!! -
riders1So OQB you are calling me a loser, because here come some stats!!!!!
LOL
Looks like we complete an average of 12 passes per game, with 11 td passes. About 71 completions with Turner the most catches in 5 of 6 games. Turner has over 25 to 30 of those 71 completions. Brenner led in catches in the Copley game with 4. Guess we wait until the DR puts the stats out this week to see the exact totals, but with 4 to 6 guys catching most of the passes, I can't see any team throwing 40 to 50 % of the passes to 1 receiver.
I LOVE STATS  -
BRFOQB: don't mess with PERK!
GO RIDERS! -
riders1BRF, Feller's still in my back seat
-
OQBhaha, ok you know what kind of stats I was talking about......It doesn't matter if a player has 1,000 yards receiving or 100 yards receiving as long as you win the game. Those were the "stats" I was talking about.
Riders1, I love your kind of stats because they are the ones that matter......Playoffs! I do appreciate your calculations to keep us up to date (since eitel has been lazy on us lol) -

I have apologized for my comments and shed light as to why they were made. Can you let it go now, i said it was unfair for me to say Davault runs things that way. Again i offer my apology to ALL it offended.OQB;922062 wrote:Wow, lot's of interesting stuff on here.....what's new haha!!

No hard feelings here, I was just offering my insight because I played under Davault....Sorry, I wasn't trying to make an attack on you because of your post. Turner is a WR and PR/KR correct. You yourself said that the coaches need to find a way to get the ball to Turner more. Kyle may average 15 completions, however, is Turner really averaging 5 completions per game?RedRider1;921382 wrote:Dont bring me into this.....
What's Kyle averaging in terms of completions this year? Maybe 15? So from that 15, how many do you think should be going to Stew? 14? All 15? Seriously.
If he and Drew each have 5 catches per game, that's 10 right there....only 5 left to go around. Still got Lemon & Weaver (who both scored TD's last week) to account for.
Drew had a long TD and Senior before he got hurt....Weaver had a long TD last week...should we just stop throwing to them? The more we evenly distribute the ball, the tougher we are to defend....and that's how you win football games.
Of course, we know you don't care about winning games, just making sure those you align yourself with get "theirs," and if they don't.....it's a conspiracy.
So, why do you say that they need to figure out how to get the ball to Turner more? -
THE4RINGZcheck your reps boys, I repped a lot of my Orrville friends on this thread.
-
RedRider1Turner had 22 receptions going in to last week and 6 more against WH....so 28 total in 6 games. 2 shy of averaging 5 receptions per game.
Both receptions, yards receiving and average receptions per game are tops in the area....so what exactly are you complaining about? -
62_80_47_WooWell, it would seem the complaining is, so they can read their own comments......
-
you think you know
Because if he averaged 10 receptions a game he would have twice as many yards !RedRider1;922444 wrote:Turner had 22 receptions going in to last week and 6 more against WH....so 28 total in 6 games. 2 shy of averaging 5 receptions per game.

In the offense we run, you want to spread the ball around and having multiple weapons helps you do that. It makes defending this offense so hard because on any given night someone is going to step up and make plays.RedRider1;922444 wrote:Turner had 22 receptions going in to last week and 6 more against WH....so 28 total in 6 games. 2 shy of averaging 5 receptions per game.

Focus on Stew and Drew will beat you
Focus on Drew and Stew will beat you
Focus on both of them and Mason will beat you running the ball
Focus on all three of those guys and Lemon, Weaver, Zook, and other guys step up to make plays.
It doesn't matter who the opponent tries to take out of the game because here in Orrville we have multiple guys that can and will get the job done.
AS long as the Riders win, who cares who touches the ball. All of the kids in that uniform are out there to make this community proud and every single one of them has something to do with a rider victory, whether it's making plays on Friday night or giving 110% on the scout team to make the ones better. EVERYONE contributes and that is what you call a TEAM!
