Week 5: Campbell Memorial @ Labrae
-
ahaist8Don't see a big difference in the schedules that the two teams played so far... Both blew out Ridge. Labrae played a 3-1 Salem team (comparable to Brookfield) and CVCA who makes the playoffs annually (comparable to South Range). Champion and liberty are both struggling teams. Am I missing something? I think it should be a good game. Good luck to both teams.

BigDean1Brookfield and Campbell will play for two more years. The game next season will be at Brookfield. Campbell will be adding Lakeview to the schedule next season. Week 1 next season is the Struthers game, followed by South Range. Coach Sikora stated LaBrae is a solid team, well coached. They have a good QB and a fine running back. They've got a good offensive line. This is a very big game for both schools.

BTrevIs week 1 in Struthers next year?

Yes, I understand it is.BTrev;904027 wrote:Is week 1 in Struthers next year? -
sooner1Labrae is a good team and also has a great offensive line coach, who has really helped improve their running game!

This is a big game for both. LaBrae is 7th in D-4 region 13 this week. Campbell Memorial is 11th in D-5 region 17. There are valuable computer points on the line. Winning this game could be a momentum builder for Campbell Memorial as they try to rebound from a tough loss last week. GO DEVILS !!!!!!!!!!sooner1;904085 wrote:Labrae is a good team and also has a great offensive line coach, who has really helped improve their running game! -

Good luck to both teams. In addition to being a big game in terms of playoffs, this game will be important in determining the winner of the blue division in the AAC. At this point in time, I think Campbell, LaBrae, and Girard have shots at winning the blue division.BigDean1;905738 wrote:This is a big game for both. LaBrae is 7th in D-4 region 13 this week. cmhs_prideYou know what I wonder. If they play their butts off and lose, is that the end of the season? Ya see because I was under the impression there were ten games.
Amazing what we teach kids today.
We need to get back to playing hard for ten games and then worry about whether or not you won a conference championship and made the playoffs. You don't stop playing as a player nor do we stop supporting as a fan until it's over. All of it. Unless.....UNLESS, the team decides themselves it's over after a loss. Because i don't have time for quitters.
Good luck against a very good Labrae team. Win or lose play hard and leave it on the field. -
ahaist8Sooner, you are right. Coach Alrich and Coach McOnnell came over this year from Mathews and have done a great job. I think they worked with Perry over there.
-
southbender12ahaist...im not positive but I think sooner was talking about Coach Armeni, who came to Labrae this year from Salem & Western Reserve.
Coach McConnell and Coach Ulrich are very good coaches as well and have no doubt helped Labrae to their 3-1 start. -
sooner1Yes southbender12, I was talking about Coach Armeni!!
-
southbender12haha miss ya sooner! hope the family is doing well!
-
sooner1Same here Bender!! How about those Yankees!!

reddevil90Campbell Has a lot to prove this week. They are extremely talented. But what they chose to do with that talent is up to them. They need to get back to basics and stop being a me first team. I hope the coaches learned a lesson as well as the team. Don't always believe that one person has to win the game. If Campbell comes out firing on all cylinders and they utilize there talent that is placed all over the field Campbell should win this game. Im not saying Labrea cant beat Campbell cause i learn my lesson as well last week. Even thought you won the game you still didn't win till the clock hits 00:00. still don't know what and why it happen and don't know what was said at the gridiron meeting cause i cant go to it and cant even go to any games at the moment. But i like to know what happen in the final minute when Campbell had first down and the clock was cranking under a minute and the other team only had one time out and no way could have dont anything more.

oldschoolreddevLeave it alone already. We play Labrae this week. Everyone on here knows that it was a mistake. Coach Sikora and his staff are dealing with a talented team with no senior leadership. We saw that before in 1994, hopefully we win this week. Good luck Red Devils!

RIP.Soroka.89This is the game that either makes or breaks the season.
1. They come out embarrassed and pissed off and make a statement.
2. They come out defeated and pack it in like babies.
This game will show exactly what this team is made of. Will through seniors finally step up to the plate and LEAD this team or will they continue the 'me first, team second' mentality?
The past is the past, let's see just how much PRIDE AND HEART this squad has.
Prove me wrong, Devils. -

Kudos to oldschoolredev. We can't dwell on or change what took place last week. Furtherrmore I believe the kids and coaches have heard all of the questions regarding last week many times over. And as I said, the kids and the coaches do read this forum. I was asked at the gridiron meeting this past Monday to talk to someone else who was there who has a player on the team in an attempt to calm the player down so he could focus on what lies ahead instead of dwelling on something that cannot be changed. I believe I may have succeeded. No, I am not going to mention who this player is. So don't ask. As adults, we have to stop talking about the game last week. We've gotta get back to business vs. LaBrae tomorrow night. The Vikings have a solid team with a great head coach and staff. Campbell needs to get it done to gain some momentum. This is a big, big game.oldschoolreddev;906882 wrote:Leave it alone already. We play Labrae this week. Everyone on here knows that it was a mistake. southbender12should be a very good game between two tough teams...slight end in the trenches to Labrae and slight edge in skill to Campbell from what I see...should be a hard fought game.
-
oldschoolreddevGood luck red devils

BigDean1It could be a wet night. Time to dust off the rain gear. GOOD LUCK CAMPBELL !!!
-
Struthers FanGood luck Campbell.
Beat LaBrae! -
Spread All DayLabrae wins 19-14.

BigDean1Lack of discipline once again hurts Campbell in this game. After the Red Devils took a 14-13 lead in the second half LaBrae marched nearly 80 yards for the winning touchdown in the 4th quarter, aided by a key unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Campbell. To LaBrae's credit, they did a good job against Campbell's running game for the most part. Carrington Herron was a huge factor in this game from his defensive line position. I was also impressed with LaBrae's offensive line. At 3-2, Campbell more than likely will have to win out to have a chance at making it to the postseason. All the Red Devils can do now is to move on and win next week.

cmhs_prideAdversity- a state of misfortune or affliction. A stroke of ill fortune.
Bad luck, catastrophe, disaster, hardship, tough luck.
Leadership- The ability to inspire others. Using vision to lead/ guide an individual/group towards a common goal. Authority, governship, chairmanship.
The two words I've been talking about since week one. Like it or not, these are the two words that will define this team. -
OhioKnew it would be close but i picked a different outcome! Campbell should rebound big against a real real bad edgewood team, the next 2 games should give them confidence going into the girard week.
