A Decade of D1 Champions, Whos the best or 2nd best after Colerain??
-
Big Al Carter2005 St. X. Hands down. They beat the second best team in the state that year.
-
skankIf you saw a majority of their games then you can form a better opinion, but my point was that Dover people who saw one Mooney game should not compare Colerain of 04, (who they probably didn't see at all), and Mooney, who they probably saw once.

september63Point is, SQ Crazies agreed with me, and yes he did see them more. I, however, was still correct in my, and his, opinion.

Little DannyColerain 2004. Men amongst boys. They had it all: size, speed, ability and downright nastiness. Nobody touched them all season. Here is there schedule/results. Most of the games were more one sided than the score indicated as the starters were pulled at the half.. I remember when McKinley scored a TD on them everyone was shocked because no one had scored a TD on the first team defense all season.
2004 Schedule-
Elder W 21-3 at Nippert
Anderson W 48-10 at PBS
Princeton W 45-12
Middletown W 55-7
Fairfield W 56-14
Sycamore W 49-0
Milford W 70-3
Lakota West W 69-20
Oak Hills W 56-0
LaSalle W 35-7
Centerville W 35-0 at Yager
Moeller W 34-6 at Yager
Worthington Kilbourne W 34-3
Canton McKinley W 50-10 State Champs -
CardsFlyinHighWhat impressed me was at the state final game, they gave mcKinley the ball 3 times on turnovers inside the 30 yard line and they could only get a field goal out of it. That team was just beasts.
I'll throw another dimension in this thread, who was some of the best state finals players the past decade. Just goin by finals performances. Team D obviously Colerain, but Scott McVey of Iggy could have had the best individual performance.
Quarterbacks Dominic Goodwin , Passing quarterback Andrew Holland maybe.
Running backs, Darius Ashley, Bo Delande -

so then....there are two of you? Well, I guess that settles it.september63 wrote: Point is, SQ Crazies agreed with me, and yes he did see them more. I, however, was still correct in my, and his, opinion.
Listen closely, you cannot see Mooney one time....And Colerain not at all, and make a judgment. Plain and simple. -
SQ_CraziesWell if he said that any Mooney team this decade would have beaten 04 Colerain then let him speak for himself--I haven't said that and won't because I don't believe that.

Don't forget Elder RB Bradley Glatthaar. Bradley Glatthaar rushed for a state final record 252 yards with three touchdowns against St. Ed's in 2003.CardsFlyinHigh wrote: What impressed me was at the state final game, they gave mcKinley the ball 3 times on turnovers inside the 30 yard line and they could only get a field goal out of it. SQ_CraziesFWIW, I don't put much into it because it's why they play the game BUT it is an incredible accurate tool--according to calpreps Mooney would only lose to two teams in the state this year. Moeller and St. X, and both are predicted close scores which just means the computer thinks it's a toss up basically. Again, for whatever that is worth to any of you. calpreps is pretty damn accurate but I'm not really a big fan myself--some people put too much stock in it.

I will let you know after next season when the decade is over. Next years team might be better than 04 Colerain.CardsFlyinHigh wrote: 10 years, 10 state champions.
2000 - Upper Arlington
2001 - St. Ignatius
2002 - Elder
2003 - Elder
2004 - Colerain
2005 - St. X
2006 - Davidson
2007 - St. X
2008 - St. Ignatius
2009 - Davidson
Who was the best,, how would you rank them? In my opinion, the 04 Colerain team was the best team I saw ever. I also point out my ever is alot shorter then some other people's ever. If i had to rank all 10, it would go like this:
1. 04 Colerain
2. 08 Iggy
3. 07 St. X
4. 06 Davidson
5. 03 Elder
6. 05 St. X
7. 02 Elder
8. 00 Upper Arlington
9. 09 Davidson
10. 01 St. Ignatius
Who do you think was the best, how wold you rank them?
Upper Arlington was last decade. So far I would have to vote for 04 Colerain.
