Wow. Bernard set a single game record for AHS (thought Fuller held it previously)?

Sad for the Arrows. Brutal opening three games against schools that all may make the playoffs. Doesn't get easier for them with Wooster coming up next. Thought they could run the table after the 0-2 start but losses like this one makes it tough to come back.

Don't be fooled by Sandusky's defense...

Sandusky was up 42-10 in the 4th and pulled the starters... That's when Ashland put up their big #'s.

Also, Sandusky has a D1 Receiver in Tristan Jeffries and a D1 OL/DL in Mike Brown. Got a pretty damn good running back in Marquis Winston as well, who has 440 yards rushing in his last 2 games. Not many teams could stop Sandusky's offense, especially with Jeffries back.

With 25 points, 3 td passes and a td run by Bernhard, he must have had some kind of stats in that 4th qtr.
  • RedRider1
0-3 and giving up an average of 41 points a game? Haven't seen an Ashland team start this bad in my memory.

Sandusky had their starts in from start to finish, could not believe they were up 42-10 and still had the starters in and one of them got injured on a kickoff.

So don't tell me they pulled their starters, if you don't believe me just watch the replay and see all the starting numbers on the field at the end.

And their defense is suspect they gave up 40 to Fremont Ross and 35 to Ashland.

    “The way he was throwing
    that corner route to (Jones),
you can’t defend that,” Sandusky coach Mike Franklin

Allot of young guys on defense missing allot assignments and tackles, hopefully they improve as the season progresses.
You can't give up an average of 41 points a game and expect to win.

But we still keep the faith and hope things come around, kind of like Orrville with penalties and turnovers.

Sandusky pulled the defensive starters. Once Ashland pulled within 14, the defensive starters came back out.

Offensively, yes, Sandusky played the starters the entire way.

As for our defense, you must not know how good Fremont is. They're 3-0 and put a beat down on Cleveland Brecksville in week 2. It was 30-0 in the 1st Q. Breckville isn't a bad team at all.

Our defense isn't as good as our offense, however, give your kids some credit... The QB put on a good display in that 4th quarter when the game was out of reach. #7 is a heck of a WR as well.

I think (and hope) Ashland finishes strong.

Sandusky will have to light the scoreboard up Friday against Start. They need to get ahead by at least 21 and fast. They will be playing against Start and the referees. Trust me.

That the officials care who wins. Not the first time I've seen you post this comment. Of course we all know the better officials will be working a NLL game that night, amirite?

Maybe you don't understand my post. The referees in TCL games are horrible whether it be football or basketball. Heck ask Sandusky fans about it after they play them. You would have had to be there to witness it. I am also aware that schools select their officials for their games. The better officials will be impartial and call a fair game it doesn't matter what league.

Start games are usually assigned by the TCL commissioner, not sure why this would be different.
  • rmolin73
Trust me if you had been at the games you would see what I am talking about. Let me give you a few examples. 1) Kick returner fields kick and ref throws the bean bag stating that his knee was down when the kids barely bent his knees, 2) A team causes 3 fumbles the whistle is blown after the opposing team recovers the fumble and the ref states that each time it was off sides, 3) Player catches the ball 4 yards out of bounds and the ref signals touchdown while the other ref signals no catch. The last one can be seen on the news clearly. I'll wait to see what the Sandusky fans have to say. Just wait and see the area teams will stop scheduling the TCL teams because of it as well as the lack of any points for the most part. But thats just my opinion.

haha, I'll keep an eye on it. However, we are no stranger to playing TCL teams.

hoops23 that is true and with your fire power it shouldn't be a problem.

Is Jeffries not a starter on defense? He is shown above in the game with a pick 6 when the score would have been 42-21 at the time with 5 min. left in 4th qtr.

No, he doesn't start on defense. He got reps with the 2nd teamers to get him back in game action.

Also, the TCL refs are horrible, that guy was right.
  • rmolin73
Hoops23 good game to you guys it appears you all stuck with your game plan and lit them up. I tried to tell them that the refs are horrible.

Harder har har you have jokes. All I'm saying is that they need to realize the games are about the kids not the zebras.

You were 100% correct rmolin73!!! After watching the film from the endzone camera, the officiating WAS THAT BAD!! They made several good calls, but they sure did miss a bunch, too.
