Week 3: Triway @ Waynedale
-
thePITmanTriway is coming off back-to-back losses to rivals and faces a 3rd this week as they travel to Apple Creek to take on the Golden Bears. Waynedale comes in at 1-1 after losing 28-14 to Ridgewood. Thoughts?
-
RedRider1Titans offense has lots to improve on. Run game is barely there. I saw spread it out and let Drake get what he can with his arms or feet.
What's the timeline on Parker Carmichael? Guessing QB in the wings next year? Move Drake to RB or WR? -
THE4RINGZThe Titans are working hard on correcting some errors that have occured in Weeks 1 and 2. Should be a good game.
-
1_beastBears were 1 big play away in W. Layfayette. After the pick 6, the kids sorta slowed. They lost to a good team in Ridgewood. That team has won 40 of their last 41 home games and made the playoffs 8 straight years! Look for a dogfight in Bear country this week...Im taking the Bears in a statement game! Bears need to hit League play at 2-1!!!
-
beatobamaBears will hit league play at 2-1. Bears played well against a pretty good Ridgewood team and Triway "O" may not score again this week. 38-6 Bears
-
1_beastI never discount Triway. Look at last year! A very good Triway team nearly let this game get away!!! Bears ended up 2-8...Triway in the playoffs. Backyard brawl...always is!
-
BRFHarbin says BRF should be rooting for Triway. However......Go Bears!
-
thePITmanGo Titans!
-
1_beastchalkboard material....
BEARS ROLL!!!!! -
thePITmanDo we even have a chalkboard in Waynedale's visitor locker room?
-
1_beastIDK....who cares...if you need material from the Beast...i'll just come into the lockerroom and tell you guys to eat one...lol
hope this helps -
thePITmanHaha! See you tonight at the game.
-
THE4RINGZActually the new facility at Waynedale is very nice. One of the best anywhere we play. I am going to drink several bottles of water this afternoon, so I can pee in the new building numerous times tonight.
Don't miss the halftime show, Triway's band will embarass the band of the home team. (that's for beast who likes to talk soccer some times).
Triway gets its O on track tonight and wins this one. Been a long week for these boys and they are ready to put one in the W column. -
Red RumLookout!!!!! Ringz is talking BAND SMACK!!!
-
OQBGood luck to both teams (pulling more for Triway, we need computer points )....Beast, Ringz, and Pitman, please keep it civil over there in Bear Country. I don't want to read about you in the paper in the morning!

1_beastWell...We have 4 Varsity cheerleaders!!!!! How ya like them apples. AND they are all sophomores
-
THE4RINGZBuilding for the future in all the skill positions, I see.
-
1_beastGot a tough one tonight...was closer than the score indicated. At halftime both teams were knotted at 153 yds of offense, triway had 9 1st downs...Bears only 5...
-
thePITmanTriway finished with 215 total yards of offense. Waynedale had 207. Triway 13 first downs. Waynedale 9. Turnovers were big - Triway 3 (2 INT, 1 fumb), Waynedale 0. Waynedale's defense was in the backfield all night. Carmichael took the reigns at QB after a slow start. He had some GREAT throws (few drops), but he had no time to throw. Give him time, and he might be pretty good!
Congrats to Waynedale on the win! Your defense stepped up big when they needed to. -
1_beastReynolds i thought did a better job at rb than #31 Shuler?
-
Havin FunPretty much what I expected. Bears stayed conservative and that was all they needed to do. Triway is just not a very good team and will beat themselves if you just sit back and let them. Freshman QB did ok for them though and is who I would stay with. Triway should have a decent team next year but it is obvious the days of glory days of the past couple years are gone.

thePITman
Reynolds 8-for-31. Schuler 9-for-34. Schuler ran mostly against 1st team. Reynolds ran mostly against 2nd and 3rd team in 4th quarter, but I agree, he was running hard, which was good to see.1_beast;889571 wrote:Reynolds i thought did a better job at rb than #31 Shuler? -
THE4RINGZFirst of all congratulations to the Golden Bears. Well planned, and played game. As always, a nice game experience at the stadium.
Enjoyed my conversation with beast, he really is an icon in The Creek.
On to the game....
I do believe we will see a lot more of #12 taking snaps. I thought he threw some nice balls last night. Obviously the Titans have been trying to find the right mox on offense all preseason and through the first two (three) games. The pieces are starting to come together. The cupboard is bare up front for the Titans. Their lack of depth has been revealed especially the past two weeks when in each of those games they have been missing a seperate starting senior o lineman. I guess that lends itself to my continuous question as to why the numbers in the program remain at the same level they are at? I know the freshman class is loaded and has good numbers, but the junior and sophomore classes are lacking bodies.
On defense again I think just the lack of available bodies continues to take its toll. Just like last week the defense just wears down.
I won't comment on the turnovers and penalties which killed a few drives last night.
Triway did move the ball at times just couldn't close the deal.
Oh well, on to next week. Good luck bears, Titans get ready for the falcons.
