Week 3 New Philadelphia vs Barberton
-
just_a_swimmerSo does anyone know anything about Barberton? I see Phila is in region 5 this year. I like it. Phila doesn't have alot of size but they are quick on D and swarm to the ball. They play big. They've beefed up the schedule a bit so that is good and I am excited to see how this new ecol format is going to play out. Adding Zainsville is a plus. I'm excited for the remainder of the year. Even if they lose a few the next few years look bright. Sophmore QB and Sophmore running back who are going to get better every game. They just need to stay injury free. I wish em luck. Go Quakers:rolleyes:
-
VikingWell, Barberton is 1-1. They lost to Cuyahoga Falls and then beat Akron Springfield last night 22-21. The Magics were down 14 points in the 4th. Barberton has a big QB that can run. His arm is ok. They have an ok RB. Their lines are pretty big, but also pretty slow. Overall, they have average team speed. They have a very good freshman that fills in on the O (WR) and D (DB/S). It looks like New Philly can run the ball well. They should be able to move the ball on the ground, control the clock and earn a "W". Just don't let Barberton hang around.
-
just_a_swimmerPhila's running back is a beast. He is only as big as a flee but he fights hard and doesn't fall on first contact. He bounces off then he is gone. He has over 500 yards in 2 games. He hits the hole and makes people miss. Not bad for a sophmore. Phila gave up some big 3rd down yardage last night. They held them and even knocked them back 5-10 yards leaving them 3rd and long alot but then would give up too much yardage for first downs on broken plays.
-
Mrs.MustangPhila should win this. You'll know how good they are after weeks 4 and 5.Cambridge and Northwest will give them little more of a test than they've had the first three weeks. They then have Coshocton,Quakes could be 3-3 after week 6.
-
just_a_swimmerSo are you saying Cambridge has been tested playing John Marshall and Mt Vernon both of which are 0-2 then River View next week? We have both Cambridge and Northwest at home. I like our chances. I also think we will beat Coshocton this year as well. I think we have a very good chance of being 6-0 after 6.
-
bases_loadedCoshocton will beat NP
-
just_a_swimmerMaybe then again maybe not. That's why they play the game. Lots of football to be played before then.
-
DoverbuckI would not under estimate Cambridge, they have something like 18 starters back from last season.
-
september63I must be the only Dover guy that roots for NP to win 9 games
during each regular season. -
just_a_swimmerYea you probably are
-
Brutuslmao 6-0 i dont see it.
-
Mrs.MustangNot to dis-credit NP.They just seem to schedule their first three games to "beef" up their schedule when most those teams are having down years. You know that NW,Cambridge and Coshocton rarely have down years.Phila fans get all pumped at the beginning of the season only to get a dose of reality at the end.
-
tcountysportsWhen you schedule any team your really not sure how good they will be. You have no clue when a team is going to have a down year. This is by far the toughest schedule Phila has had in awhile. From what i can remember.

Make that two fans. I want to see all the ECOL teams win every game minus ONE, Dover week. NP is my dark horse this year. Keep winning boys, spread the ball around. The little mighty RB can't carry the load week in week out. Good luck this week take it to Barberton!september63;883191 wrote:I must be the only Dover guy that roots for NP to win 9 games

Doverbuck
It always seems to look good then Phila put the hex on the O.O.C. and they hit the skids. W.P. is now 0-2 W.B. 0-2 O.O.C. teams now 2-8tcountysports;883739 wrote:When you schedule any team your really not sure how good they will be. I agree and they have another guy that can carry the ball. They need to use him.J-Dover;883747 wrote:Make that two fans. I want to see all the ECOL teams win every game minus ONE, Dover week. NWIndianNation01Should be a good film for Northwest to watch when its over...considering we are playing both.
-
J-DoverThey need to run the other guy too, unless Johnson grows another 8 inches and 40lbs between last week and this week. Playing tougher teams will play its toll on him. Look at GlenOaks big back, he carries it 40 plus times a week and dead by the end of the game. And he is a giant of a back. I want to see Johnson lead the area(T-county) in running this, until week 10..
Keep rolling NP -
Mrs.Mustang
exactly.Keep the kid healthy,I'm sure phila has some other weapons.J-Dover;884496 wrote:They need to run the other guy too, unless Johnson grows another 8 inches and 40lbs between last week and this week. LocoEngineer66I hope Phila goes 10-0
-
BEAST 0332I think Phila has a great shot at going 9-1 this year. Loco: Keep dreaming like you do year after year after year.
-
NWIndianNation01I hope they go 8-2 personally...
-
osundPhilly needs Beans to keep maturing, he has all the physical skills to become a big time QB. West Branch was stuffing the run until they open the playbook and Beans made some big time throws that eventually opened up the run game.
