Week 2: Struthers at Girard
-
BTrevI can imagine that he'd be upset about his son's injury. That whole family has to be disappointed over what happened.
I really can't see how you blame the coach though... unless you're just looking for a scapegoat. The truth of the matter, is that injuries happen in football. It's no one's fault, it's just part of the game.
Usually, a parent gets angry at a coach when they feel that their son doesn't get an opportunity to play, or if they feel that their son is a victim of politics and favoritism. Very rarely do you hear of a parent holding a grudge against a coach for giving their son too much playing time.
For every Mike Maillis that's gotten hurt on a Special Teams play, there's a hundred kids that have gotten shafted by a coach for one reason or another.
Believe me, I felt for Mike when I found out about his knee. I've gotten to know him a little bit, and he's a good young man. He worked very hard, and he was really looking forward to the season. Of course it sucks what happened to him, but it's no one's fault.
I don't think he should've been out there either, but I don't blame Coach Asher for what happened.
That's just me though. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me. -

BTrevEast is 5 weeks away... what happened to not counting your eggs before they hatch? One week at a time...
Will someone post in-game updates? I'm not sure if I'll be able to go tonight... -
OhioIll post updates.
-
BTrevThanks!
-
OhioStruthers can't tackle period.
-
BTrevI said that last week... and I said if they didn't tackle against Girard, it would kill them. Tackling and penalties were both on my list of concerns after last week... they're still on my list of concerns.
-
omemorialhighwow...was it this bad?

I think it was 24-14 after 3. Graziano basically ran at will all night though. No one could tackle him. Girard's last 2 TDs came after a failed attempt at a fake punt that gave Girard the ball inside the Struthers 20, and after a blocked punt that gave Girard the ball inside the Struthers 5... something like that.omemorialhigh;881271 wrote:wow...was it this bad?
Girard is definitely for real this year... but Struthers has to start tackling. -
