Sandusky comes in with an all-time record of 649-358-42
Fremont comes in with an all-time record of 617-394-48

    Sandusky leads all-time series 53-44-8

    2009 Sandusky won 30-0
    2010 Fremont won 21-7

Both teams made playoffs last year, Fremont losing to Toledo SJJ in the 1st round, Sandusky beating #1 Avon in the first round, before losing to eventual State champs Maple Heights in the 2nd round.

The rivalry is a bit different this year, as the game is traditionally played week 10. With both teams moving to new leagues this season, (Sandusky the NOL; Fremont Ross the TRAC) the teams had to adjust their scheduling. Both teams return quite a bit, including Sandusky's D1 talent in WR Tristen Jeffries and DL/OL Mike Brown.

Another significant change was Fremont Ross dropping to D6 R2, which is where Sandusky also sits, so while this is the 2nd biggest rivalry in Ohio, there is even more riding on the line now in computer points. This could also be a match-up revisited come postseason.

I'm not sure if there is a bigger week 1 match up this season, especially with two team accounting for over 1,200 wins.

Sandusky is also unveiling the brand new renovations to Strobel Field, now named Cedar Point Stadium at Strobel Field. The improved stadium now includes state of the art turf as well as a replay capability jumbo style scoreboard. There will also be a scoreboard (I believe) outside of the stadium providing game updates.

Cedar Point, the NFL donation program, and Orlando Pace all had a hand in the restoration of the historic Strobel Field, I believe.

Should be a great Friday night.
