Leave the mighty Buckeye 8 and you can schedule any way you want. You do realize that it cost more money to host home games than play away games, don't you? No one is forced to play at Harding Stadium, they choose to come here and experience the atmosphere of the stadium. Indian Creek can not afford to schedule 8 home games because of the financial problems they have and that is fact, just ask the school board about that decision. Before they joined the buckeye 8 they were told to play as many away games as possible because of the expense of hosting games at home, if you don't believe that you can even ask coach Connors what he was told when he wanted to schedule more home games. -

You are correct. This may be a factor for local teams not wanting to play you. Yet all we hear is that we are afraid. I think everyone knows Big Red has a better program but fear is not the reason.password;873513 wrote:Leave the mighty Buckeye 8 and you can schedule any way you want. I agree. I don't think teams are scared to play Big Red, some teams may have other ideas on who to schedule to increase their chances of taking their program to the next level. Most teams try to schedule teams that are evenly matched with them and their is nothing wrong with that, maybe they don't like the terms of the contract that Big Red offers or they just prefer to play other teams. Regardless of the reasons they use to decide their opponent, I really doubt that fear is part of that decision making process. Do you think that Indian Creek or Big Red would schedule Solon or Glenville high School, I don't think it will ever happen anytime soon, not because either school is scared to play them but because it just wouldn't make any sense for any of the schools. We all need to remember this is High School Football that we are talking about, not life or death.Darkon;873835 wrote:You are correct. This may be a factor for local teams not wanting to play you. On the subject of Big Red's Schedule, after watching the game last night, I will be happy if they go 7-3. One returning lineman on O, and two on D will mean there has to be some serious stepping up to fill so many spots. We will have a few games to get ready for the tougher games ahead. We will have a clearer Idea after the game with the Griffs as they always have the speed to ramp the game up a notch.
I'm not picking on the Red; just offering my observation. -

It's still early and there's plenty of football to go. I figure 8-2 or better.SUPER787;874650 wrote:Nice post password. Staying with the topic is hard for some posters.

sonofsamBig Red played a textbook "Big Red game" against Morgantown and I was honestly surprised at how quickly Big Red broke Morgantown's will. Big Red's O Line once again made the difference while their defense forced Morgantown to break. Congrats to Big Red on the win... 1-0 is always a good start.
