Newspaper Yearly Preview
-
NWIndianNation01Does anyone know if The Repository (Canton) has came out with their Yearly HS football preview yet? If not, when does it come out?
The Beacon Journal? (Akron)
Please feel free to use this thread to post other papers that have or have yet to release them.
Thanks! -
riders1Most previews won't come out until next week before the 1st game, haven't seen any notice as to when they will appear, but will keep looking. Usually Tues, Wed, or Thursday of game #1 week.

THE4RINGZThe DR hasn't even shot the photographs for their preview yet. And anyone want to guess the theme of this year's DR preview?

Hmm... prop bet? I'll go "Young Guns". I have no clue, though... -
riders1How about a back to football theme instead of the wasted time and space on other junk and more on football?
Do you want to save pictures of your kid as a clown or a football player? -
RedRider1Feels like an old newarkcatholicfan thread where he wanted people to mail him the preview articles.
The DR will never top their throwback issue from a few years ago. Guessing this years theme is farm themed. -
riders1Think the had a farm theme a few years ago, probably do a facebook theme next.
-
1_beastMilitary Theme??? RedNeck.....I mean Racing/Nascar

I think the farm theme (and another one) won a few national awards. -
THE4RINGZA farm theme? Interesting.
They touched on Facebook and Twitter a little bit last year in the player interviews. -
NWIndianNation01The Repository one usually comes out a week or two before the season.

Actually, the Rep usually comes out on like a wednesday, two days before the first game, and the Inde the day before. -
THE4RINGZThe DR preview definitely will have a Facebook slant to it. The player surveys had numerous questions about social media.

IDK...I think BEAST has some public Rep!!! -
footballnutI'd actually like to see the DR dig into it a little bit this year. They always profile the same kids I agree with riders1 on this one. Quit clownin and talk about football. Take some of the garbage out and talk about more of the kids on each team. Every year they profile one or two kids on a team and we all know how football works. It's the ultimate team sport. Talk about team and forget about individuals. If they do that maybe more people would be interested. Give us something!!! I want to know information about teams that I dont know much about. Newspapers are supposed to be informative. Go to work people

riders1What, you don't want to read about what the lb is listening to on his ipod, favorite tv show, singer, or place to eat
-
Mike Plant"Tom Smith, a 5-10, 170-pound senior, and John Jones, a 5-11, 160-pound junior, are scheduled to start at cornerback. Also vying for playing time are Ed Smith, Tom's sophomore brother, and a trio of juniors, Tim Green, Paul Black and Matt Brown. Another sophomore, T.J. Ward, is also in the mix, according to Coach Tressel."
That's a preview of the 2012 preview, "Back to Basics" -

I will expect numerous Lil Wayne references. -

Obviously not Waynedale's preview. No Yoders, Millers, or Hershbergers listed. -
Mike Plantlol, actually I was at Waynedale earlier this week and I think they have one Miller, don't remember any of the other two

funny guy -
footballnutI couldn't care less what a kids listening to on his Ipod or what he looks like in a cowboy hat. Can he play? Teams dont win games because of the performance of 1 kid. The fact is, often it's the players around the "star" that makes him a star. Talk about some of those kids. I'm from Orrville and everyone knows you're gonna talk about Mason. He is a stud but dig deeper. It's a preview not a "who's the kid who gets the most publicity on each team issue".

NWIndianNation01To be more specific, I mean the season preview, not the weekly one. I remember in past years the yearly Repository came out at least a week ahead...
