Where is the Central OH chatter?

  • Tiernan
...afterall we are the Big School's toughest Region (do the other 5 Div's really matter?)

Watched Westerville South and DeSales scrimmage on Sat. Fairly even battle across the board. South was without their QB1 due to injury but he is supposed to be back by first game. Both teams looked slightly ahead on Offensive execution compared to their Defensive play which is a little odd for only 1 week of practice. The big RB for SFD committed to OSU is not as tall as Eddie George but his running style reminds you of the Big "E". Kid has had injury tendencies the past two years but if he can stay healthy DeSales will roll thru D3.

    You have to invite them!

The teams I have seen so far are: Grove City-seem to have good size. They typically don't put much into scrimages so hard to tell. Upper Arlington- Small but could suprise people with no real strengths or weaknesses. DeSales-running game stays healthy, could win it all. Watterson-QB with some experience and a very good linebacker. Typical small, slow team that just wins. Pick Central starts with Moeller and St. X. We should find out pretty quick what they have. Davidson has some gaps to fill but should be strong again this year.

This is the first I've heard of DeSales' kid, Warren Ball. I like his style:

Ball has been mentally committed to OSU since his Soph year (tight relationship with the Griffin family). If the kid can stay healthy always seems to have something nagging him, knee, ankle, shoulder (insiders are questioning his personal toughness) he will light up the scoreboard. You have to see this kid in the weight room to really appreciate what a physical freak he is. DeSales has had its share of top athletes but this one could possible be the best ever if he can begin to understand the difference between being "hurt" and being "injured".

Good call Tiernan, he played in the Watterson game last year and I was not sure how injured he was. Seemed to go down a little too easy, especially for his size. I thought he was still injured but maybe he just thought he was.

    Ok, lets make this easy.
People pretend to be insiders and share information or Opinions with others but HAVE no idea what they are talking about. You said the kid always seems to have something nagging him, " You said Knee, ankle, shoulder". 1. He has played football, soccer, track, basketball, aau basketball- played in 6th grade AAU national championship and he has never had a knee injury in his career, never had a shoulder injury in his career.
In the 10 grade he suffered a groan tear that was keep private how serious it was but missed 5 games total and came back to finish the year the in the playoffs because his team made it to the state championship. How many people can play running back with several small tears in your groin? He went through off season therapy and rehab to get it back to 100% because he kept playing on it and it kept re injuring it. But you question his toughness? Insider right?

In his 11th grade year he suffered a severe high ankle sprain in week 3, the MRI revealed ligament tears. This was kept private. He missed 4 games total and came back. How many people can play running back with ligament tears in your ankle? It makes you a target because you cant cut or explode but you question his toughness? Insider right? He came back the following spring of this year to run track and made it to the state final as the anchor leg of the 4x200 relay team.

Those are the ONLY career injuries he has ever had in his life of playing sports. Multiple injuries? 17 years of sports and 1 ankle sprain and 1 groin strain both made worse due to continous play on the injuries. Sports injuries that can happen to anyone. He is a hard violent runner and injuries can happen.

People be wary of forums and the so called insiders... So much of it is not TRUE.

I did some recent "looking back" data searching and I found that there was one year that the OCC Ohio had 5 of it's 8 teams in the playoffs. That's pretty good. More often than not though, the OCC Central and Ohio send three teams apiece. That's pretty good too.

But, let's be honest, football is a kids game and wrestling is for men. :D :p :D

I think it'll be bigger than that. Game of the week locally, unless I'm missing something.
