The Best HS Running Back You Ever Saw In Person?
-
TiernanKijana Carter was the best ever out of Central Ohio
-
BigDean1Ted Bell of Cardinal Mooney from the early 1970's is the best running back I have ever seen. He had it all: power, speed, moves, great field vision. Who knows how far Ted would have gotten if he hadn't ruined his knee.

firestonefanHarold Brown-Kent Roosevelt Class of 1978 (I think)

TODD_PACKERCarlos Snow (CAPE) watched him play Ironton 3 times. He was something else.

I remember Mike Doss as a RB for Canton McKinley, but I don't remember if he was a stud RB or not.

Not really. He was a stud SS tho. Beat a buddy of mine out for the Defensive player of the year award (Stark County) in '99. -

I second Matt Hull. -
"truthspeaker"That would be Mike Mahalic(not sure of the spelling) C C H S 1971, went to Pitt. started in front of Tony Dorsett, until a career ending injury, and the rest is history.

LakeZurichHiawatha Fransico (sp)? Cinc Moeller, also had a brother named Dawon that was pretty darn good. After that Carlos Snow from C.A.P.E.
-
jakethesnakeLamont "Poncho" Smith Wintersville High School 1970 and 71. A man among boys. The best athlete on the field every week.
-
justcompeteHiawatha Francisco - also had the best line, but still unreal
Carlos Snow - anyone remember the SI cover with him and the kid that went to florida and played for Dallas? Injuries really limited him from being his best.
Keith Byars - Coluld pretty much do what ever he wanted with the ball. -
tk421Jermon Jackson - Ironton OH
Jason Harmon - Ironton OH -
Steel Valley FootballWithout question, Maurice Clarett.

PaladinThe best I've seen is Robert Smith of Euclid and Ted Bell of Mooney . Chris Wells was close and I saw Archie Griffin who was outstanding in H.S.
But the most dominant RB was Mo Clarrett. I saw the St. Edwards game where he destroyed them for 401 yds rushing & 5 TDs. They were outstanding and he made them look like a pee wee team. He also destroyed Cin. Elder at Harding with a Hall of Fame game. Over two years, he was the best I had ever seen and the above guys were no slouches. -

EnforcerGo Chiefs, ALOT better than Arnold, He would run Around or through You, Didnt matter to Him, He wennt to O.U. but was hurt in a car wreck I believe

Falcons53Charles Gladman from Akron Garfield was a stud. He tore up Fitch in game 1 of the 1982 season and they didn't lose again until game 10 of the 1983 season. I remember asking my dad "why don't they tackle that guy?" He must have had 40 carries. They just kept giving him the ball. Everyone knew what was coming and he still gained yards. Those were very good Fitch teams as well, so it was tough to watch as a 10 year old.
Robert Smith was outstanding as well. Those two were the best I recall seeing in person. -
