Great comeback, and you know what? If I was from Mooney, i might possibly be offended by that. Or I could just ask if you have a couple trips to West Virginia.

alden hill is a 4.6 kid and not a 4.4 kid which was incorrectly posted by the person who started this thread. The Thomas kid is by far the better back and when it is all said and done he will have upwards of 40 scholarship offers. I think Marlington is the favorite in the NBC but the darkhorses have to be Louisville and West Branch. WB is loaded with young talent and if their new coach is able to put it all together then they could be tough. Minerva, Alliance and Salem should all be respectable.

I guess I wouldn't consider Louisville a darkhorse, as I see them as a co-favorite with Marlington, with the Dukes having an edge right now. I agree West Branch could surprise some people & may be in full force by the end of the season. If Alliance finally takes their talent & puts it all together watch out for them as well. Minerva loses two very key players but still has a good crop of athletes, will be interesting to see how they fare this year with their new coach as well.

Completely agree about Thomas, but think he'll be on the defensive side of the line in college before it's all said & done. An exceptional overall athlete.

Good luck to all the NBC teams this year, & a hearty welcome to the Quakers!

I heard Tennessee also offered Thomas. Perhaps they got Hill just to get to Thomas.

I think they league is only going to be a two-horse race. Cant see anyone else in the league beating Louisville or Marlington and like I've obviously been stating, I think Marlington is the better of the two. As for West Branch, yes they do have a lot of young talent that already has gotten some experience last year. People though are talking about their new coach, but he didnt really show much at Harding. Maybe he will thrive at a smaller school , but the jury is out.

Cards..I agree about taking Hill to maybe open the door on getting the Thomas kid but he will be property of someone like Alabama or Texas when it is all said and done. I also think Dota was a steal for WB. He was able to navigate the clusterbang that is Warren Harding and get to the playoffs which should help him two divisions lower and it is safe to say that he will not have half the problems in WB as he probably had to deal with at Harding.

That is true, but you can also argue with some of the D1 college talent he had, he should've made the playoffs more than once. But we'll see what he can do. They got some good juniors and from what I've heard there's some talent coming up. But i;m going to have to wait and see what he can do before I make a judgement on him.

Unfortunately it appears Michigan is the front runner at the current time.
