Divisions, Regional Assignments released for 2011-12

Mortgagestar1Curious which schools will be moved out of their previous Division sizes.
-
ts1227Mid May, at their monthly meeting (for fall sports). The enrollments are out, but the clasifications will come in about 3 weeks
EDIT: or May 12... lol -
5knotsI think two years ago it was May 9
-
fpfpdadchhIt will be interesting to see where Canal Fulton Northwest ends up. We have been right on the limit of D3. Any change could put us in D2.

Cutoff for D3 will be right around 325 boys. Northwest has 279 so they're nowhere near moving up to D2. Two more years in D3 for the Indians.
They're down from 309 boys at the last count...if that trend continues, in another two years, they may be near D-4 status. -
WriterbuckeyeHas anyone done a breakdown of divisions (an estimate) based on the new numbers?
-
RedRider1Here's my best guess.

Chatter member ts1227 did a great job taking out all the non-football OHSAA schools. I just drew lines in the sand where I think the cutoffs will land. -

ts1227Regions for 2011-2012:
http://ohsaa.org/sports/ft/boys/2011/2011RegAssignments.pdf
Expect Youngstown East to be reclassified from D2R5 to D1R1 (and Chaney to subsequently come off of the books altogether) once the school year begins and they have an official head count after Youngstown redistricts this summer.
Edited original post title to indicate all of the info is out. -
ts1227First thing I notice when I look at the schools in my area (Mahoning Valley) is that Mahoning County has been placed in Region 11, as opposed to 9 where they had been for a while.
This puts Mooney, Poland, Steubenville, Marlington, Dover, Salem, Minerva, etc. all in the same region. Good lord. -

I understand we still have to wait until the season starts, but I'm predicting that Division III will be the most competitive of all divisions and Region 11 will be the most brutal! -
september63Tough road ahead for Dover in region 11 this year.
-
salemfreakthe new region 11 is a great idea. better teams... more hype.......... bigger opprotunities for us.

sigh I guess they really like us -
Go4alOngbOmBregion 11 is a freaking MONSTER. Whoever survives THAT will definitely be on state champion watch.(if the team that makes it out actually makes it out healthy!) I'm a Licking Valley fan and WOW. Those play-offs will be something to see if we make it!
