Another Parochial school caught recruiting.

Your school also got caught CHEATING. You know what they say about people in glass houses right? -

Hell, this makes you want to recruit. What a joke.skank;748007 wrote:Do any of you feel that their punishment was just....Honestly? -

This. Ignore who got caught and if they are public or private. $250 is a joke. Considering any booster could easily donate to the school to cover it, how does that affect anything? -
Sykotyk$250 is quite worth the price of the prestige of making the playoffs, regional finals, state championships, higher booster/alumni support, etc. If 50 extra people show up to one game because you improve, you covered your potential loss.

queencitybuckeyeskank;748511 wrote:This post proves you said compete.
Furthermore, if a public school with 550 boys can take a parochial school with over 1,000 boys to the final gun, losing by a mere 7 pts....And you don't call that competing, I think you're lying.
Being satisfied by "only" losing by seven isn't competing. Finding a way to get it done is competing. Has everyone in Massillon gone soft, or is just you? -

Who said I was satisfied? Dude, either you do not have the capabilities to comprehend what you read, or you keep changing the meaning of words to make them fit the criteria of what you want them to mean?
Listen, in our last 5 games vs St. Ed, we're 3-2, (1-0 in the playoffs). Considering the fact that we now have documented proof that they cheat....I'd say we're competative. -
skankrmolin73;748512 wrote:This is such a stupid rule that OHSAA is putting changes in the rules due to this. This is a silly rule hence the $250 fine.
Wow, what a surprise coming from you. I'd suppose that if St. Ed actually stormed a kids house and took him at gun point, you'd think the rule not allowing that was stupid. -

You kill me skank. Your school got caught cheating before too. So let's not play the holier than thou card. -
skankI'm not playing any card, my school was busted YEARS AGO, they paid the price, (which was much heftier then $250), you and the boys preach to live in the present....ST.ED WAS BUSTED IN THE PRESENT. You and your cohorts claimed that parochial schools win because they want it more, they practice harder, they have better families, they run an extra sprint, they do an extra set in the weight room, etc....etc....etc....Well, they just may want it more, they just may practice harder, they just may run extra sprints, do extra sets, but NOW, we all know what else they do.
And for anyone who thinks that St. Ed is the only parochial school that takes extra liberties, you got another think coming.
How many kids do you think they have gotten, (lured to their school), in the past due to this illegal practice? -

You were the ring leader of the "parochial seven", claiming that paroch's just work harder. The only thing funnier than one of the paroch's you and the boys were pimping as a "hard working do it right school", getting busted, is the penalty....(if you want to call it that), they recieved. -

What punishment would you like them to receive? I'm really interested in hearing this. Because you know all the facts from that one article, you should be able to come up with a fair punishment that nobody would have a problem with. -
Mooney44CardsIf St. Eds got busted in the present, that means they are still getting busted as we speak. In which case we still don't know the whole story. In which case I will withhold judgement. Unless, of course, "April 20, 2011 9:28 a.m." is ALSO in the past, in which case, by skank's standards, this is all over with, they paid the price and we should stop talking about it because "PAST!" and all that.
Jesus this is like Lenny Dykstra crying foul that Barry Bonds is all juiced up. -

Your school used to be competitive. Your school will never, ever win a state title. You are just another juice box school. -

I'm glad you say this, it's good karma for us....Swearing up and down with the boys , that the paroch's were doing everything the right way, then....BOOM, Elyria Cath. "Well, they're the exception to the rule, because not everyb....BOOM Lake Ridge Acad, (not parochial, but private), "well they're not parochial so it doesn't cou....BOOM, St. Edward.
I love people like you who are ashamed to admit who their school is. -
McKAlumni07I think its funny that everything on this site turns into a Massillon bash fest... It could be something totally off the wall about a girls soccer team and someway somehow the massillon football team gets brought up... St. Ed got caught.... stop making excuses and trying to justify it by jumping on Massillon... I hate massillon just as much if not MORE than anyone on here... but this is becoming pathetic....

I haven't mentioned them once...but I think people are just pointing out the irony of a fan of a team who was caught recruiting crying foul over another school getting caught recruiting. THAT is why Massillon was brought up (at least I think that's why they were brought up).
Still waiting on the punishment that should have been handed down skank. -
GoChiefsI don't agree with the rule, but, it is the rule. I do agree that $250 is a joke.

So again, I'll ask...what should the punishment have been? -

First of all, Massillons past transgressions are neither here nor there in this conversation, it doesnt matter who is questioning the "parochial way", bottom line, I was right, you and the boys were wrong.
As far as the punishment, to be honest with you, I really don't know what it should be, I kind of relate it to, when you hear of two seperate incidents of people getting murdered, one guy gets 25 to life, and the other, in a very similar sounding incident gets 6 to 10, and is out in 4.
Two hundred and fifty dollars is a joke when the facts are revealed, an attempt to recruit a kid is an attempt to recruit a kid. So, I guess to appease your request, I'll say $2,500-$5,000 would have been more of a deterent. If $250 and a letter is all a school will get if caught, I'll start sending out letters tomorrow. -

I think it turned into a Massillon love fe....er, I mean bash fest because the guy doing most of the questioning is a Massillon guy. These guys have had an excuse for everything, from Moeller, to St. V, now to St. Ed. People have known for years that, I'll just say MOST, of the parochials have mastered the art of recruiting, I still can't believe nothing has been done. If that wanna be commish, Claire Muscaro had put his foot down with Moeller back in the '70s and '80s, maybe it wouldn't have come to this. Again, Massillon has nothing to do with this conversation, they were caught in the past, they did their time, and paid the price, it's over. Today is today, St. Ed's crime is the flavor of the day. These guys, (the parochial seven), are upset because from day one, I have said that parochial schools are as crooked as politicians, and recent events are proving that I have been right. -

Enough to warrant being called a punishment. $250? Thats not even a slap on the wrist. -
coyotes22sherm03;750055 wrote:So again, I'll ask...what should the punishment have been?
The same as it should be for ANY school.
First time:
2 years probation
1 year no playoffs/no computer points
$3,000 fine
And a deeper look into any other student athletes. (of ALL sports for said school)
If caught during probation, or immediately after probation:
5 more years probation
2 years no playoffs/no computer points
$5,500 fine
3 year lock on ALL student transfers, whether it be for athletics or not.
This should apply to ALL schools.
Hows that sound? -
4cards^^^^^
That sounds fare to me coyote except for the money if caught again. Possibly make make the monetary end of it really sting ($ 10,000.00)? -

WOW, 10k? That would hurt.
