Best TEAM performance in the finals
-
judge_smalesFor me.....it's Mooney.....with Kettering a close second.
Brown from Winton Woods and Heard from Mooney really played well and both should be mvp's of the games.
Norwalk and Ursline where the MAC killers........with the Norwalk/DSJ game the best of all.
Congrats to all that made it....(our team was home).......it was a real pleasure to watch all the games this year in Hi Def from my couch!!!!!!!!!!
Good Job STO!!!! -
newarkcatholicfanTeam effort no doubt it was by a the home grown Hillard Davidson team.
-
flyerfan64i think the 98 yard drive by st paul has everything to do with the best team work. Along with the defense practically shutting out dsj
-
mlisi39I think Mooney played the most complete game on both sides of the ball other than losing a fumble.
The defense had held DeSales under 100 yards through 3 quarters. After that the 2nd and 3rd teamers were put in and DeSales score with 16 seconds left.
On offense, they scored 35 points, and even threw the ball well. Shocking, I know.
The special teams even came up with a game changing play and Fox put a few kickoffs in the end zone.
I know Alter and Woods were also very dominant, but i think Mooney played the best game overall. -
MessyDinosaurTeam Performance-- NSP stopping DSJ on 4th and goal and then driving 98yards for the winning score in 3 minutes.
Hilliard Davidison did a great job of not giving up after their punter dropped the snap and then got injured, I was almost certain Glenville was going to put it away, and they almost did twice. Two balls that should have been caught later, Hilliard gets the ball back from the 30 or so and breaks off a huge run on first down. Score soon after and go for the WIN instead of taking it into OT gutsy call, payed off in the end though. Way to not give up! -

Nice veiled shot at Mooney there.newarkcatholicfan wrote: Team effort no doubt it was by a the home grown Hillard Davidson team. -
MessyDinosaurHAHA NCF tried to sneak it in there.
I don't think it is so much as Mooney recruits, but more of kids want to associate themselves with an outstanding program. If playing well year in and out is recruiting then a lot of teams are guilty. -
canofcornI agree with NCF though - Davidson from start to finish gave the best TEAM performance. Mooney is a real close second - even their subs were solid.
-
wghfanWinton Woods was the most impressive team in the finals.
-
Little DannyIn my opinion Winton Woods dominated their opponent more than anyone else (including Mooney, Alter, Ursuline).
Davidson was the one team that beat the team who, on paper, was more talented than them. As a result, their victory was enjoyable for those who root for them and against The Glenville Academic Campus.
As a result, I would put those two at the top. -

Ummmm, Maple Hts had almost 400 yards of offense. Just because Winton Woods looked good on offense doesn't mean they "dominated" the other team.Little Danny wrote: In my opinion Winton Woods dominated their opponent more than anyone else (including Mooney, Alter, Ursuline).

Domination is not letting the other team past your 40 until after you put in their 2nd team. -

Just curious, out of your 1,574 posts, how many show your jealousy of outstanding football programs? I'll bet it's well over 50%. Next week you'll probably go after Coldwater and Big Red.newarkcatholicfan wrote: Team effort no doubt it was by a the home grown Hillard Davidson team.
As for the topic I think Mooney's win over DeSales was the most complete win while Hilliard's win ranks right up there also. -
sebastianIs this thread asking who had the best team by an all-star team, or by a legit high school program. Needs to worded a little better, IMO.

Nice try, but they'll all legit teams. Your post, however, is notsebastian wrote: Is this thread asking who had the best team by an all-star team, or by a legit high school program. Needs to worded a little better, IMO. -

How did their team give the best complete performance if they had 2 receivers open for Glenville who both dropped sure game winning touchdown passes.canofcorn wrote: I agree with NCF though - Davidson from start to finish gave the best TEAM performance. They gave a great performance, and earned their title, but it wasn't the best team performance.
Mooney absolutely dominated their opponent.
