Norwalk High School

it just funny to me if a private school wins a state title..automatic recruiting thought and unfair... but if the school doesnt, then its never brought up...

    interesting isnt it...

Yeah if Delphos would have won.. this thread would say "Delphos Jefferson High school" hah... Although I do believe Jefferson has been doing well recently? Their success is still uncomparable to St. Johns. In the end it comes down to buying into your program! Which is one thing some Huron county schools aren't doing, especially Norwalk.

Well they usually start 3 to 5 weeks later than most teams.

Are you the same fisherman from the other site, the one who is adverse to wearing pants.

I did not take it in a bad way I was just saying wrong.

It's gonna take Norwalk time to build. If JL has been at St. Paul for 19 years and has made the playoffs 13, it means his first few years he was building to what he has today. Do I think Norwalk will ever get to that level, no but lets give the coach some time. Even St. Paul wasn't built overnight.

Time will tell. Hopefully the community will support both teams. Many of the boys interact, etc and it would be nice to see fans from both schools attend the others games.

As for the recruiting, I've only seen Arnold and Sportsvideo mention it and they're St. Paul fans. EVERYONE in Norwalk knows that St. Paul DOESN'T recruit so no needs to mention it. I type that as I mention it but I get tired of that being brought up in Norwalk threads because Norwalk fans do not use that as an excuse to our losing.

    I thought SV was Huron.

I attended Norwalk the wife is from SP and that is where the kids go. My kids all play sports and in fact a son is on the football team. I have always wished the Truckers well and supported them financially and with my "time." I happened to be sitting with an old classmate at a playoff game. He had brought his son and some of his friends. They all attend NHS. They were rooting against SP and I asked why. One of the kids responded ,"We hate St Paul." Why? "No reason, we just hate them." That changed my feelings about my alma mater and I will no longer be supportive. (Except of course the taxes that are taken and given to them.)

Helmet - don't let a couple "stupid" kids and a bad parent ruin your support of NHS. There were several NHS fans and students in attendance throughout the playoff run, and businesses and others around town supported the Flyers in the playoffs. The kids and the dad were just jealous that their team wasn't playing.

If it was Norwalk in the state finals (and right now, that's a HUGE if - just try to imagine it), there would be some St. Paul students and parents of students rooting against the Truckers.

Please don't give up on Norwalk High - they need your support and love now more than ever!

I have seen alot of bad fans from Norwalk who root against NSP. Unfortunately, I can count an equal number of parents from NSP that root against Norwalk. I just don't get it from either side.

I do believe this though. NSP fans THINK that Norwalk fans don't respect them and because of that they often say things that come back to make them look stupid.

I must say that I have really never talked to a NSP fan that wished anyhting but the best for NHS, in football, volleyball, or anything else for that matter. Just doesn't seem like it goes both ways. I will never wish NHS ill will, I just don't plan on being as openly supportive as I've been. Truth be told , I'm sure I'll get over it and continue on as before.

This whole downward spiral of Trucker football can be traced back to the unjustified firing of Bob Hart in 1980. The school board at that time let personal politics interfere with a football program 6 years removed from a state title, with the building blocks for future sucess still in place. What a price to pay for meddling! Good Luck to Coach McFarland in the future, there's only one way to go and that's up!

Can anyone verify if norwalk is going to be putting in a new weight room. If norwalk wants their program to get better they need to improve their off season program. Their current facilities really handcuffs them in this area. Their training facilities for a D2 school are very poor. I heard they were planning something similar to what St. Paul just put in.

heard it was going to be state of the art, bigger than st pauls and more like Bellevue's enough indoor space to practice any sport on turf...

So let me get this straight, you're going to stop supporting your alma mater just because of some kids? What the hell do they have to do with your alma mater anyway? They just go to the damn school, that doesn't make them the schools representative. Seriously, grow up and get over it.

If you went to and graduated from Norwalk High school, then you will always be a Trucker. Stop pretending to be something you're not. You sound more like a fan who wishes he was enjoying a state football title instead of a proud graduate of a good public school.

Your reading comprehension skills need a little work. I am enjoying a state football title. And I enjoyed one 35 years ago as well.

"What the hell do they have to do with your alma mater anyway?"- Same thing I do. Whether you like it or not, those kids are representatives of the school.

I agree with LBJ, be mad at the kids and your friend, not the school.

lol, sadly, you're a representative of the school too...

I don't think my reading comprehension "skills" need any work. You made an idiotic post and I called you out on it...

Now you're back tracking and I find it hilarious.
  • Helmetbuster
I'm not back tracking on anything. You still can't read. My point was that we are both representatives of the school. Do you even know what alma mater means? You "called me out"-now that's LOL worthy.
