Most Impressive Scedule For 2011 Season

  Who has the most exciting competitive schedule for preps in Buckeye Land? And why?

  Austintown Fitch had a nice schedule with the Federal League teams, Warren G Harding, and Poland...then they added Hamilton-Wentworth Ontario Canada St Mary's. Disappointing.
  
  
  Over this way, Uniontown Lake and Y'Town Cardinal Mooney seem to always have a real good schedule.

  USA Today, Preps.com, ESPN, ect has been announcing and following the top competitive schools for over thirty years. Many nationally known programs get a huge boost in polls. Does anyone have data on the top Ohio conferences as in state titles and out of state records against other programs?

  Div. IV Orrville's 2011 schedule with last year's record:
  
  D. III Canal Fulton Northwest 4-6 (consistently in the playoffs in D. III)
  D. IV Wooster Triway 8-3 (3 consecutive playoff appearances, lost to Orrville in 1st round in 2010)
  D. II Copley 9-2 (Beat Orrville 34-33 in OT in 2010, made playoffs)
  D. II Lexington 5-5 (hurt by injuries all year, lost starting QB, will be dangerous team in 11)
  D. II Mansfield Sr 6-4 (good athletes but seem to fall apart in the close games)
  D. III West Holmes 1-9 (very young and return just about everyone, only way to go is up)
  D. II Ashland 10-3 (made regional finals the past 2 years, but have to replace all Ohio QB Marcus Fuller)
  D. II Mansfield Madison 2-8 (return a lot from this team and same as WH, only way to go is up)
  D. IV Clear Fork 10-2 (made playoffs the past few years, but lost a lot of solid playmakers)
  D. II Wooster 7-3 (should be good, return a lot but the coach keeps them from really playing to their potential)
  
  Orrville was 10-4 last season and lost to Chagrin Falls in the state semi-finals 21-3. A lot of players coming back from that team.

  You hate us saying it but our strength of schedule helps us get in the playoffs and make deep runs like we did this past season. 3 regional final appearances and final 4 appearance in the last 5 years....you have to give credit to our schedule for preparing us for the playoffs because each and every week in the regular season is like a playoff game/atmosphere. Sure it is nothing compared to the Big time Div. I schools or some of the elite parochial schools, but it does it's job for our players and prepares us well for the playoffs and ultimately that's what matters.
  
  Sorry the Pac-7 doesn't do that for your Titans!

  the mac schools don't play a bunch of big schools, but they go to playoffs every yr and also wins state titles !

  Moeller is definitely nationally known & respected. I was in highschool when Coach Fouts got busted recruiting across state lines. Today, it's so common and public schools get kids from across state lines. How times have changed.Coach Faust had a highly successful run at Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1962 to 80, where he built the program from scratch. The Crusaders under Faust had a 178–23–2 record and included seven unbeaten seasons, four national prep titles, and five Ohio state titles in his last six seasons. One of Faust's linebackers at Moeller was John Boehner, who would later become a United States Congressman and 61st Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

  Bishop Hartley Schedule seems stout. What are your thoughts
  Week 1: @ Amanda Clearcreek (Lost to BH twice last year once the first game of the year and first round of the playoffs)
  Week 2: Columbus Academy (Academy usually puts up a good game to BH always nice to see this cross town rivarly)
  Week 3: @ East Knox (New team added on the schedule. Dont really know much about East Knox? Maybe someone can help me out on this one?)
  Week 4: Archbishop Hoban (New team added on the schedule. Usually pretty tough team know they return two top prospects in OH on the DL. Should be exciting game!)
  Week 5: @ Villa Angela-St. Joseph (Lost to BH last year)
  Week 6: Open (Would like to see them add a team here but we will see)
  Week 7: Elyria Catholic (Lost in the Region final last year. I know they lose a lot of people)
  Week 8: Ironton (Beat BH in the regular season but lost to BH in the Regional final. Ironton is always a powerhouse football program should be a great game.)
  Week 9: Coshocton (New team added to the schedule this year. Lost to Ironton first round last year. I know they lost a key player. How they looking this coming season?)
  Week 10: @Bishop Ready (Lost to BH last year. Always a good game. Ready seems to be down.)

  The private schools tend to play the toughest schedules year in and year out. I see this in other states as well. This brings in huge dollars and respect for the schools programs. I know of several nationally where the football program proceeds are spread out for other sports including girls.
  
  Prior to the modern playoff system, public schools played more competitive schedules to get the polls favoring them. The conferences then were different with members colliding for all or nothing recognition. Today, schedules are geared toward making the post regular season rather than risk a loss to quality opponents. I really do not want us to go back to the public schools only playoffs. If you can't run with the BIG dogs, stay on the porch!

  We’ve heard of NFL and NBA teams opening seasons overseas. But high school football?
  
  Ten high school teams are scheduled to kick off its 2012 season in Dublin, Ireland as part of the Global Ireland Football Tournament (GIFT).
  It is believed to be the first time American high school football teams will participate overseas.
  The only squads confirmed are two perennial West powers in Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) and Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.). That game has been scheduled for Aug. 31, 2012.
  
  Texas-based organizer Global Football has built the series around the same weekend of the college game between Notre Dame and Navy. According to the organizers, each team will get two practices before the games and is part of a five-day educational football tour that will end by attending the Army-Notre Dame game at Aviva Stadium.
  
  The rest of the eight U.S. squads will be announced next week, hopefully on St. Patrick’s Day, organizers say.

  Dublin is where all Catholic teams should be playing!

  Many of the teams that play tough schedules (both public and private) do well come playoff time because they are battle tested. Teams that simply "schedule" a 10-0 or 9-1 season are often eliminated in the first round. The MAC is a great example of this. A 7-3 MAC team is most likely better prepared for the playoffs than someone that schedule 10 cupcakes.

  You need depth to play scedules like Mooney does and Col. DeSales.and Ursulin.. Steubenville played a monster schedule the past couple of years no gimmis per say .. Some of our best players were hurt in weeks one and two ..Some times it takes luck with a toughie schedule.. or you need a barn full ....
