Canal Fulton Northwest 2011

NWIndianNation01Does anyone have the complete 2011 schedule? Last time I saw it there were a few weeks open or not totally locked yet? So is the full schedule locked as of yet?
It should be really fun to watch this team the next few years. We should have a really solid team for at least 3 years. Should be interesting how we hold up with the new schedule but I think we have state chances in the years to come! Can't wait for t -
ajwahoo2k2Orrville -Away
Cleveland John Hay (?) - Home
Canton South - Away
Parma Padua - Home
New Philly - Away
Poland - Home (?)
C-bus St. Charles - Home
Canfield - Away
St. Thomas - Home
Barbertucky - Home
Should be a good team this year. Many under classmen got loads of playing time this past year. Yes we lost some starters, but Vic always finds someone to fill the holes created by graduation.
I look for Beers to have a great season this year. The O-line will be much improved and larger. QB should be more comfortable back there, he was getting better as the season went on.
Defense should be a typical Whitting D, solid in the middle and have the ability to provide bone jarring hits (as long as they don't leave their feet).
The independant schedule is a tough one, with at least 5 (maybe 6) play-off qualifers in this mix. -
skankThat's a nice schedule, lot's of computer points available.

I really hope we expand with Dover, New Philly, and Northwest....
What a great league that would be!
East:
Dover
Northwest
New Philly
Orrville
West Holmes
Wooster
West:
Ashland
Lexington
Clear Fork
Mansfield SR.
Mansfield Madison
Shelby -
tinman 36OQB,
I like it, that would be a great league.
As for NW, they had 4 games last year that could have went either way, but didn't go our way. Thats gonna happen when you play so many young guys. This year NW will have a very good team, should be exciting -
OQBIt's under discussion right now....but a few schools are holding everything up. Let's all just hope and pray it can get done.
Northwest is always going to have a chance in every game they play...just the tradition coach whiting has established there. The Indians will be back to the playoffs this season with the amount of starters coming back.
Week one is going to be fun. -
tinman 36Which teams are holding it up?
-
OQBLet's just say their colors are orange and black and the other school is blue and yellow.
Tinman, you got a Private message. -

ChargerI like this teams makeup this year. Very talented, hard working group with alot of experience from last year. The coaching staff is very energetic and pushing these kids to be something special.
-
tinman 36I'm pretty excited for this year. The schedule came out nice, it'll be cool playing some new teams

ajwahoo2k2So the Big Bad Generals are scared of getting their buts kicked by the likes of NW and Dover? The OCC might be the first of the mega leagues. I like this idea too...
17 high schools from Stark County get together and put a Big School/Small School league. Think of the computer points available from this league. But wait, the Fed would never allow themselves to be beat by the likes of NW or Marlington. -

I think there are a few issues Wooster may have, although pretty much speculation on my part:
- Wooster is D2 in football and D1 in basketball. That East alignment would make them the lone D1 school.
- They would be separated from Ashland and the Mansfield schools. For whatever reason, I feel that they would rather be lumped in with them than the hillbillies from Holmes and Tuscarawas Counties. They will use the excuse that travel will be greater, although the trip down 250 to Dover/New Phila is roughly the same as the trip across 30 to Mansfield.
- The Generals would probably feel better getting beat by schools their size or bigger. Losing to d3 and d4 schools probably isn't at the top of their priority list. -
Riderwannabethey should be use to it,getting beat by smaller schools
-
ChargerI was told recently that Northwest will be heading to the Portage Trail League. They will be in the upper division.
-
tinman 36Hopefully some news about a league comes out soon. Too bad we couldn't go back to the old All-Ohio League
-
OQBIt's a shame the OCC schools can't get on the same page and expand....the league would be one of the best in the state.
-
ajwahoo2k2Hopefully something does come out soon. Might be too late for the next two years, but the later Indians will be fine.
Hearing that the lifting program is going well. This will definitely be a "strong" Whiting team.
Can't wait for the season to start. Indian Fans don't forget that the reserved parking will be limited this year due to the
construction this year. Also, the reserved tickets will be on sale soon. A few surprizes for everyone with this. -
ajwahoo2k2OQB - I think the big boys of the OCC (WOOOOOSTER) maybe be tired of losing games to the Red Riders. They couldnt stand to lose to the likes of
Dover, New Philly and the Indians. Anyway you guys can be annexed to Stark County? -
OQBhaha very true.....What if the Federal League expanded, it could look something like this:
East:
Austintown-Fitch
Boardman
McKinley
Glenoak
Hoover
Lake
West:
Perry
Jackson
Dover
New Philly
Northwest
Orrville
5 divisional games, 2 crossover games, and 3 non-conference games. -
tinman 36I really like your league ideas OQB. Orrville-Jackson basketball game every year would be fun to watch. Perry would prob take the wrestling crown every year. Football would be fun in that legue, many of those teams could win it every year. By the way OQB, I couldn't get that E-mail to work
-
OQBhaha thanks, that league would probably NEVER happen....but It's fun to think about because it would be a great league!
-
tinman 36We play Jackson in basketball, the 2010 state champ team only beat us by about 60. It was closer this year, they only beat us by 30 or 40. I wish those teams in the OCC come to thier senses, that would be the league. Don't know if you heard why we left the NBC, with the levy in question we sent a letter of withdraw so we were not tied to contracts that if broken would come with heavy fines. So when the levy passed we asked back in, they took a vote, and we lost(to me it was a win). 20 years in the league, it's time for a change. In my time at NW, I have seen the Senate League, The All-Ohio, and the NBC. With the people and location of schools, I like the first two
-
OQBYeah, Unfortunately I think at this point it would be more likely for a new leauge to form than the OCC to expand....almost like the NFL owners vs players. They know a new deal needs done, but they can't get on the same page. The OCC knows it should expand this is the second time they have had serious talks about it, but they can't decide in which direction, and with what schools. Now is the perfect time with Dover, New Philly, and Northwest all wanting in bad. We'll see what happens.
-
ajwahoo2k2PTC is a good league, but the travel would be just like the NBC. Really sitting on the edge of Stark, Summit and Wayne Counties the best league would be the one that OQB suggested. Oh well pipe dreams do happen.
I am looking forward to the 2011 & 2012 editions of the Indians. By playoff time they will be battle tested and ready for more.
By the way, the Spring TD Club reverse raffle is Saturday, 26th. Might be a few tickets left.
