Steub Central coach suspended

From what I have been told this is all about one parent that dislikes Coach Bahen and has been looking for a way to get him fired. The player himself wanted nothing to do with this and likes Coach Bahen alot and that bothers the father because the kid was always talking about how great he was and the father was tired of his kid looking up to Coach Bahen.I hope this is not the truth because he has just ruined Coach Bahen life with all the media and internet attention and it was all because he couldn't handle his kid looking up to someone else.

@ password you gotta be kidding ...Thats sick if its the case ..This apparently first of all happened some time ago whatever it was . They said there was a semblance of truth to the accusations....So they put him on leave now after all this time .. No charges were ever filed ..That parent with the big ego problem is trying to ruin Bahen ... I hope that maybe that guy faces a law suit for further damaging this man ,who has already had to put up with so much garbage from his boses ......Why does he keep being thrown under the bus ? Is it all money and politics? A lawyers last name .. disturbing..Maybe he should have stayed at Edison .

I hope the person who told me that is wrong also.Coach Bahen is a great guy and should not be going thru any of this crap.I think and would hope that everyone in the Ville would stand up and support Coach Bahen during these tough times because he would do the same for everyone else if they needed him.

I could not agree more with you killer........great post!

Did he make the kid climb up a scissor-lift tower during a wind storm?

He went to Edison for a pay raise. He left Edison when one, he finally realized that he couldn't be as intense as he was at CCHS and two, when CCHS finally realized they let a great coach get away.

Gregg Bahen is Catholic Central, no one loves that place more than him and there aren't many better men out there either!
  • The Equalizer
He went to Edison because the CCHS Principal at the time wanted to decide who was going to be on his coaching staff. The fact Edison could pay a lot more and were smart enough to snatch him up when he quit didn't hurt.

What do you mean that he couldn't be as intense?

He's an intense coach, he wear's his emotions on his sleeve. He also served in the Marine Corp. Some places just don't grasp that style.

These two things are not the same thing. There are very intense Coaches out that that don't wear their emotions on their sleeve.

Emotional coaches can be a good thing when used in a timely manner.

Says who? He gets emotional and let's you know about it. Same thing when he's working over an official, emaotional and very intense.

I am pretty sure it was me that said that.

It is possible for a Coach to be one without the other meaning the two are not the same thing.

You can be both emotional and intense. I don't deny that at all.

LOL....OK.;) He's both, emotional and intense.

So Edison did not allow him to be the same type of coach as he had always been? I remember the guy going there. I just remember anything how things went. What kind of record did he have at Edison? Did he finish the contract or did he leave or was let go early? Were there any complaints like this while he was there?

I don't think it was that Edison didn't allow him to coach that way, I believe he realized that it was an entirely different enviroment than he was used to. Some kids just don't but in to that philosophy of coaching. Don't now if he finished out his contract or not but I'm sure he was not let go. I believe Edison was average at best when he was there. If anyone knows more feel free to correct me.

Everybody in Steubenville knows this man bleeds blue and gold . He wears his emotions on his sleeve for sure ... When an opposing player goes down with injury he is always out on the field . He is a top notch first class coach who does not deserve this mud ... It is totally disgusting . He is good for his kids . They need him.

If these accusations are not true, then the person making them should SEVERELY punished. I don't think that anyone goes after people making false accusations hard enough. They should be civilly and criminally prosecuted for trying to ruin a man's reputation.

On the other hand, if a teacher, coach, or whoever is crossing the line with a kid, then they should be handled the same way. I mean really crossing the line though, not the PC, he looked at me wrong type of crossing the line.
  • Rebel_ I.N.S.
I never met a more stand up human being than Coach Bahen & I never stepped foot into CCHS as a student.
  • The Equalizer
Then the question is what is crossing the line? Screaming and hollering? Getting a little physical to get your point across? Causing an inadvertant injury in the process? Anyone who has played knows all 3 are possible and probably even accept it if it happens as just part of suiting up. The problem again lies in that his employers who care nothing for the school or the team, don't accept that mentality because none of them probably ever played. To them this is completely black and white because the whole system he's going through now is what they have to use on priests who touch little boys so the diocese looks tough on abuse (ie, please don't sue us!). But to protect that whole lot from being singled out now all the teachers, coaches, etc (I include myself) are treated like they all are potential molesters or abusers and all fall under the same guidelines.
