Actually the 2010 Big Red team will be remembered for a few things... 1.) They are human and they cannot sustain the success forever. 2.) The Harrison debacle. 3.) A bad coaching call against Dover. 4.) Big Red's least impressive season in years. 5.) The beginning of some "down time" at the Red.

Actually was just doing some work at your hospital yesterday and twice the game came up. Very fresh on your minds.

Skank I didn't play in that game nor did I schedule or unschedule the game. Its obvious to me that someone thought they had a chance to catch Massillon with their pants and showcase ones son and it all backfired.

Haha....FAR from it, just like to remind Dover folks about when they get a little too big for their britches. It's kinda funny though to watch a fanbase criticise another so bad over a loss, when THEIR school didn't even have the marbles to finish out their contract with a third party school.

Getting back to the original thread, I will rememer this year very fondly because I was actually able to see Big Red play many times. I attended eight varsity games, three scrimmages, and one freshman game. That was quite a feat for someone who lives in Seattle.

If everything works out for me, I plan to return to Steubenville next fall to see Big Red play again. I'm very much looking forward to it.

I just like to remind you that I had no say in whether the game was played or not. Thought it was a little ridiculous to schedule in the first place then very ridiculous to back out of the contract the next year.

    Let me try:
They will be remembered as the team that:
    1) Still has more State Championships than Dover
    2) Still has more Regional Championships than Dover
    3) Still has more Total wins than Dover
    4) Still has more Playoff wins than Dover
    Did I miss anything?

How will Steubenville be remembered? Honestly?

Well, 2010 was the second year of the Massillon/Steubenville contract....And....2010 was the second year in a row they actually played the game, so....I guess I will remember them as someone who honors their contracts.

You left out number 6: ruining my health by keeping my blood pressure at a constant 240/210.
    Cheers.

I'll remember the 2010 Steubenville team as the team that inspired an OC thread about how they will be remembered in which I was repeatedly reminded about a four year old cancelled contract between two other schools that no body else but one person cares about but I'm glad it doesn't keep me up at night because if it did I'd really think I needed to get a life which I'd assume I didn't have if that contract bothered me so much.

The fact that you are rationalizing and saying you don't care, proves you care, heck, I'd be embarresed too, don't feel bad.

Massillon beat BR 28-7. Dover won 31-28. So Massillon would have beat Dover, 49-17. Right?
  • skank
    That's only a 32 point difference, lately we've beaten them by 34.
  • Big Al Carter
But, they made it to the third round. Massillon lost the first round. Gotta give them 2 points for that.
  • skank
    Ok, I'll allow it.
  • Big Al Carter
Why are we talking about dOVER on a BR thread? Oh well. Carry on.

The cool part is...I don't even have to try. You make it just that easy. Is there a signed "34-0" football in the trophy case next to the 1950s trophies?

I don't think there is. At least I'M not ashamed of who my school is. I make my loyalties known, I still don't even know who YOUR school is, care to fill me in?
