Being an AD/coach and being a board member/coach are 2 completely different animals.

-That would be the job I'm referring to. Coach Bendle did as best as he could possibly do in the situation that they have at Meadowbrook. There are so many things outside the program itself working against the football team. Highlighted by their competition in Dover, New Philly, Cambridge, lately Coshocton and the like. Pay to play is killing them and the culture just isn't there right now. Coach Bendle was moving forward and now will not get the chance to see it through. Too bad. I don't know who the heck they're going to get to take that job.
Yeah it will not be easy to fill, They lost a really good football coach. Can't make chicken salad out of the other chicken stuff. Believe me I know all too well about all the outside factors at meadowbrook.....they didn't go forward they went 10 steps backwards by him resigning.
-Exactly...it's just sad. It's not fair to the kids. But, the board members don't see that. They're just on the outside, and one thing they always listen to is the parents and anyone with an axe to grind. We all know this. The folks within the district THINK we should win and don't look at all the different factors that go into why they're not winning. Not a new situation..but, another situation that just highlights the shortsightedness of some parents who lay blame on the coaches' head. I guess the coaches know this going in...however, Meadowbrook must start over...again, from scratch. I honestly believe that they will end up with some random dude within the district that has, for example, a kid on the team as being the head coach. I really don't know who is going to come in with any kind of experience and take over the program after talking to the right people. Maybe a young assistant in the area or something. Regardless, it's sad...again, very sad.
I agree you are going to see a bunch of young coaches try to get their foot in the door somewhere and Meadowbrook might be the place for them.....From what I here it is going to be tough trying to find assistant coaches as well. No teaching jobs.

You're right. Meadowbrook is working with the bare minimum as far as teachers go. There's just nowhere to put coaches coming in from the outside, if they were going to bring them in from the outside. Having folks coaching that are NOT teachers is one facet that is a problem in the program right now. Plus, they MUST start paying coaches again. Over the last 3 years I believe that Coach Bendle simply split his salary up evenly among the assistants as the pay for them was cut at one point. Just another example of something working against the program. I hope they see some success soon.

No it wasn't his salary there are only 3 assistant stipends which was divided up between six assistants....Once you lose something you never get it back. The tent is going to go up real soon.
